Jones on SEN

He was just on then, i think i joined it half way through unfortunately.

KB was basically just reiterating all Melbourne supporters feeling about him this year, that he's been a shining beacon in a very dark time. Turns out he was a Saints supporter as a kid and he talked about how strange it was to be not only playing against his boyhood team, but playing against his idol as a kid in Robert Harvey. He said that this year he set himself a task of always being in the 22 and getting a starting midfield slot.

He learned a lot from when he played on Judd, Kerr, and Harvey. He was also asked how he dealt with the whole thing of Neale Daniher's departure, he said that he tried to just focus on his job and his role in the side rather than be drawn into it. He said it was obviously hard to see him go as Neale was the coach who gave him his start in AFL Footy.

He re-enforced the notion that the players going out on to the field this week will not be tanking, the team has always believed in the team making things better by winning games and they have tried that all year.

One final question that was given to him was whether he would grown his hair for next year, he said he might grow it over the summer and if it gets too hot for him, he'll just shave it off again.

Personally, i love the chrome dome! And I love this kid, been a good to watch all year.

The kid is a champ. That he's been standing up each week while others around him have crumbled, speaks volumes of his attitude and his star quality.

He'll win, or come very close to winning our B&F. That is VERY impressive for a 19 year old kid playing his second season.

KB also mentioned his Grand Final performance in the TAC cup... KB said basically jones pretty much tried to beat the other team on his own, but unfortunately he didn't have much support and they went down...

He sure has been a standout for us this year, but you can also say that he has a lot of imrovement to come. Just as an example, his speed of disposal during some matches can be very frustrating to watch, but this is something that will change, so I think we have another Brock in the making, just hope we keep hold of him and he stays injury free.

Can't wait to see how he will play on Sunday as I am sure he will be putting in 100%, let's wait and see who else stands up with him?

Sounds so familiar

Yeah KB loved his performance in that GF, he mentioned it probably 3-4 times

Was good to finally listen to a melboutne player on there for once.

And also damning of our more seasoned players.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
