Brogan on Bell

Recommended Posts

If ever there was a need for a hard bodied senior player to go and stand up to an opposition player then this was it, instead Bell was left out to dry. Very disappointing.

have not seen the inncident , and i would like to... i dont encourage acts of stupidity but i do appreciate them when team mates get involved....

Please, we hang Davey out to dry when he remonstrates with the opposition and gets suspended, but Belly is weak for not getting sucked in by Brogan?

i guess he must have never played indoor netball

I'm not suggesting anyone whack the bloke which is what Davey did, which was dumb, but at least let the opposition know that we won't be physically intimidated. Allowing yourselves to be pushed around is a quick route to regular thumpings.

u might not suggest it.... but i will..... someone should come in a take him out.... carefull not to start an all in brawl.... and try not to get urself reported.... but this drives fear in the oppositions eyes.... i would not be dissapointed at all if he were reported.... as i was not last week with davey....

Jaded, fair's fair, Bell did the worng thing and made himself and the club look ridiculous - Yze (who you will bake at will) has stood up to Barry Hall in the past and when it was Bell's turn he came out of it looking like a girl.

ur dead right.... i got hawks vs dees on tape from early last year... and yze stands up too campbell brown and robert campbell who is about 15 cm bigger than him....

If anyone has some footage of the game handy I invite you to look at this.

yes he did. brogan made him look like a bit of a girl. brogan has a few screws loose and he is a big unit. I dont know what bell could have done for a split second i think brogan lost control. bells reaction actually stopped him from cutting him in half.

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take another look at it...

Have any of you guys ever actually BEEN scared before? What happens? Your eyes go wide, you puff out your chest, and you angle your body ready for a fight or to scamper. Bell was JUSTIFIABLY confused when Brogan came up to him. He went to bump Wilson, and when he missed his arm went out and Wilson ran through it. He TOTALLY took a dive, and it all happened in Bell's blind spot...

He looked like he was lost (which is an expression we're used to with Belly, bless his cotton socks), but that was not the face of a man frightened that he was going to be hurt by a ruckman who needs anger-management classes.

Not only are you all making a mountain out of a molehill, but I don't believe there was a molehill there in the first place.

The point is, as Nasher rightly points out, whether you are right or wrong, or whether emotion has gotten ahead of itself, or even sometimes when a player takes a dive you MUST be there to support your team-mates... The message it sends to supporters, coaches and most importantly the guys you're playing with is that if you throw yourself in there and HURT an opposition player, you will have to deal with the retaliatory strike on your own... Does this make the young players go in 100% every time? Well... with Belly, he likes to hit hard simply because he likes to hit hard... He's been doing it on his own all year, I doubt he'll stop trying to lay players out because of this...

What worries me is that this is not the first time this year a player has had to go it alone.

It would be nice if players actually stood up for each other (Ironically the young players are the ones in the side who mainly do in Jones, Beamer, Brock and Col) but honestly I couldn't really care less what Belly did as long as he goes when it is his turn to go.

And BrownlowBruce, please stop condoning what Davey did, I love Flash but he seriously needs to stop worrying about his tagger and doing the best he can going hard at the BALL.

Getting reported like that is just stupid.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
