Absolutely love this.

The future is now. We have to be able to trust Turner and co can get the job done on an ageing Lynch and a struggling Richmond.

So more run into the team.

I hope we keep Lingers in the back half, but CJ might see Ed pushed up the ground.

Lingers' positioning is handy too, not just for the handball receive, but his two way running to defend transition.

The amount of carry on about the lack of changes off the 5 day back is just funny to reach.

Everyone acting as if we're playing 24 hours after the Brisbane game.

Its still 5 days between games. The amount of recovery, hot and colds, massages these players go through everyday throughout the week just to be cherry ripe for the weekend is fairly relentless.

There is enough medicos and physios guiding the players each day but also keeping the coaches in thr loop with player recovery.

They will be fine.

Richmond has had a 5 day break as well..

Have any of you worried about fresh legs seen Richmond play this year? They’re awful. Woefully uncompetitive. And even with Lynch back, this week’s side is even worse than last week’s. They’ve made so many changes because half their side is injured.

I know it would be very Melbourne to lose this game, but we won’t. No chance whatsoever. Been a good while since we’ve come up against a team in this much disarray.

Essendon was in a fair degree of disarray when they were 0-4, and on an 0-17 run, a fortnight ago leading into Gather Round...

I get the logic, and our form so far this year means we are obvious favourites, but Richmond is going to put it together and win a game at some point soon, and ANZAC Eve is one of only two real marquee games they have all year (the other being Dreamtime). If there was a time for them to "click", it's tomorrow.

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
