Vent: the website said (and still says) training commences at 9:45am today. I got here at 9:30 only to be told training starts at 10:30. How hard is it to update this one simple amendment?

Anyways, at least they got the venue right. We’re back at Gosch’s and I’m no expert but I just walked on the oval and it looks great and feels amazing underfoot. This is the closest I’ll ever get to this side of the big sticks so right now in my head I’m lining up for a shot after the siren for a win.

I missed 😭

Liv and GG rehabbing. GG is jogging without issue. Josh* the physio is really pleased with how she’s looking and he’s letting her know with praise and encouragement.

Goldy has a bandage over her left eye. She said it’s to protect her brow bone, the wound is fully healed. You wouldn’t know she’d been hit hard enough to split the skin, only three days ago. She does NOT hold back, even at training.

Heater is training with the main group. She doesn’t have strapping or a guard on her finger. So good to see her unhampered.

GG said she’s hoping to be available next week but of course that’s subject to a test next week. But she’s confident she’ll be right.

My girl LJ has been in sneakers this whole session. Naturally I was curious (read worried) but she assured me it’s nothing; she stubbed her toe this morning and we all know how that feels 😩

Well good news, because the score review's just come in (wow, much quicker than usual!) and actually, it WAS a goal!

I'm very glad we won't be seeing "stubbed toe" on the injury list 😅

Actually, how's Tayla? I was thinking, could be a late out. Surprised she isn't under concussion protocols TBH.

How did Taylor pull up after that collision?

Tay wasn’t there this morning

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Brisbane

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • AFLW REPORT: Geelong

Melbourne wrapped up the AFLW home and away season with a hard-fought 14-point win over Geelong at Kardinia Park. The result secured second place on the ladder with a 9–3 record and a home qualifying final against the Brisbane Lions next week.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
