Also playing Fullarton in defence is not a bad idea as he needs to prove himself.

unfortunately i think he shows to be incapable of proving himself at vfl level, let alone afl

massive bust, albeit it cost us little

Lovely sunny afternoon at Casey Fields. Sticky fingers Johnson, Henderson misses. Big Tom good defence on the goal line.

Jai Culley great stoppage snap! Goal

Culley with a great snap for Casey’s first. AJ is looking up and about.

Fullarton playing as a backman is an interesting move. Gave away an early dubious free.

I’ve wondered about that move for awhile because he is so mobile and takes a big Mark. He looks good there

Umpires have forgotten how to adjudicate holding the ball. That was a shocking no call.

C: Billings, Laurie, Woewodin

HF: Spargo, Johnson, Henderson

F: Mentha, Petty, Kentfield

FOLL: Campbell, Hardie, Culley

IC: Verrall, Brown, Fullerton, Baldi, Yze

Umpire doesn’t pay incorrect disposal resulting in Tanker goal🤮

AJ is looking up and about, and can get the ball. Unfortunately, his disposal is [censored] and I’m not a big fan. So far he’s kicked to the opposition inside 50, and hand balled over a team mates head when it should’ve been a walk in goal

Aiden Johnson looking refreshed a number of positive touches.

Umpiring? Non-decision hurts blues bags goal.

Luker Kentfield, Mitch Hardy combination goal!!

Tackling pressure is very good at the moment.

Spargo and Bailey unsighted so far.

Mentha’s pace from congestion is exciting as was his subsequent ball use. Showing some great signs.

Verrall lovely palm to Mentha, scintillating pass to Big Tom. 50 metre penalty goal!!!

Bonner caught high no free. Umpire assist goal x2 to blues? No footy gods smiling.

Aiden Johnson opportunistic snap. Goal!!!

Unbelievably our forward line looks very dangerous. I’m not used to this.

And TC is back in the ruck. And Verrall is back on the pine. No wonder he’s only getting 40min per game. Hopefully TC will still be okay at the end of the game.

Is this on Kayo? Or 7mate?

Tom Campbell towering mark in defense. Sloppy OOF kick.

Paddy Cross first kick. Ricky Mentha late touch affects blues forward kick.

Kirkwood-Scott drills pass to Petty.Goal!!!!!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
