it smells a little bit like OP or something lingering like that for these two, would love to see them back in one or two but i doubt it.

Bartram would be good to get back a bit sooner also.

Jared Rivers, our new Nick Smith :(

Please refer to Rivers as 122 from now on.

He is gone, won't play again this year would be my guess.

And Bartram still 4-6 away? Wasn't he 2 weeks away last week?

And what's actually wrong with Yze?

So many questions...

Clint Bartram (knee) - 4-6 weeks

What's happened to Bartram? He was supposed to be available by round 12-13. If he's still 4-6 now he won't play this year.

RE: Rivers -

Also spoke to Chris Fagan who said that Jared Rivers was iffy for the rest of the year with his OP, whereas Brent Moloney encouragingly he said may well be right to present himself this week. Told him Brad Miller had kicked 6 which he didnt know at the time and brought a smile to his face.

Moloney's had OP and I read that he has played more than was planned because of our injuries.

Disappointing to see Bartram's ETA pushed back.

must be dissapointing for bartram. if those three are struggling id like to see them told to just take 10 weeks off and do preseason with us, get themselves right first. we need them on the park next year, fit and firing, all 3 get in our best 22, prob 18.

RE yze jaded, when he missed the first game he had scans for OP (which i found strange considering it is occuring at this stage of his career, maybe he caught it from moloney?) they said the scans came back showing it wasnt bad at all, but they didnt say it wasnt OP. mild OP is a pain in the ass. i get the feeling yze might have played if daveys knee didnt get up but he was otherwise going to drop out...

I read that Daniher knew all along that Yze wouldn't play...

I think it was in the Herald Sun or the The Age today, in an article about Benny.

How does a veteran who hasn't missed a game in something like 10 years, suddenly get OP? That is incredibly strange.

And poor Bartram, you really have to feel for him. First his ankle, which turned out to be a really bad one (I was still seeing him on crutches months later) now the knee. I miss watching that little goer!

P.S.- Injuryupdate.com has Bartram returning in Round 12. What the hell is going on then?

Rivers was interviewed on MMM before the game on Monday, when asked about his injury said it was lower back tightness affecting his hip and hamstrings as well. Has only recently started running again, and said very unconvincingly that he was 1-2 away. Don't get your hopes up for a return within the next month, especially if we keep winning.

Give Rivers the season off to get it right. This is a career threatening injury. Gary Lyon had this injury for 3 - 4 painful seasons. Struggled to play more than 3 games in a row. Eventually he retired at the age of 28 as a result of this injury.

I know we all like to dream and think we are still a chance this year. However the reality is that this almost certainly is not the case. Send Bartam, Rivers and Molony to rehab now so they are ripe for next season.

lower back tightness worries me. that could be heaps of things and there could be no way to fix it...unless they know whats causing it it is a problem...

re didnt retire til the end of the '99 season, he was born september '67 so he wouldve been 31 during that season. but in '99 he only played 2 games, '97 5 games and '96 6 games (21 games in '98), so at the end of the 95 season (effectively his last cept the comeback year) he was 28 ;)

it would have been interesting to see the development of the mfc if he was fit those years. would he have been playing in the 2000 GF? would we have made it? would neitz stayed at CHB?

Tingay had same problem didnt he?

only 105 games then traded to swans where he didnt even play

Some other decent players were pretty plagued by injuries back in those days - Prymke and G. Lovett come to mind.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
