Just read in the Age's injury report that Rivers is a possible return this week. Haven't heard anything more since MFC denied he had OP. Anyone know if this is realistic or just sloppy journalism?

I'd say sloppy copy. Injury Update now has him listed as "Groin Strain"/ Indefinite, and also refers to the back-related hamstring scenario. Groin Strain is euphemism-speak for suspected O.P.

On the other hand Injury Update had Bate out for a couple post-rd 9 and yet he played this week.

Don't think we'll see him before the mid-season break, even if his problem really is hamstring/back related.

Why would you risk him now, when he can have 2 full weeks of extra recovery under his belt instead?

This is the same reason why I don't think we'll see Buckley this week.

Normally I'd say no as well, but Collingwood on Queens Birthday...

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
