We have made the decision, previously expressed, that there is to be no discussion on this website about the Ex President, Glen Bartlett, or any allegations against the Club Coach, Simon Goodwin, whilst they are based on allegations that are unproven. We simply do not wish to go into areas that could expose the site, our posters, our coach or the club in the circumstances where litigation is pending.

Please understand and respect this position. If have a post or topic deleted, please be assured that it was deleted for a reason.

This goes for all topics or posts that we deem may cross the line. If we are going to err it will be on the side of caution.

Our site was established to provide information and support about and for the Melbourne Football Club, its players, coaches and staff and that is where we stand.

Repeating that it is Demonland policy to stand behind our club, coach and players. There is to be no discussion on this website about the Ex President or any allegations against the club coach Simon Goodwin whilst they are based on claims that are neither proven nor substantiated in any way, shape or form.

This is the MFC Statement in response to the allegations:-

"The Melbourne Football Club is aware, through WorkSafe Victoria, that Victoria Laspas has made a complaint about the MFC. At no point has Victoria Laspas been a volunteer or employee of the club.

"Victoria Laspas is the partner of ex-president Glen Bartlett who ceased as a board member of the club in 2021.

"The club has responded to WorkSafe's requests for documentation regarding club policies, staff training, employee induction and procedures. It rejects any wrongdoing.

"The club has also provided WorkSafe Victoria with documents and proof that contradict and refute claims by Victoria Laspas.

"Over the last two years, Glen Bartlett and his partner Victoria Laspas have continued to make allegations about historical events that are factually incorrect and baseless”.

The MFC and our former President Glen Bartlett have buried the hatchet!

Not specifically part of the review but a great step forward demons-settle-with-glen-bartlett-apologise-to-simon-goodwin

The Joint Statement:

The Board of the Melbourne Football Club, Mr GB and Ms VS, are pleased to announce that all proceedings between them have been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. A confidential settlement has been entered into between the parties to avoid the costs of litigation for all.

Individual recollections and perspectives can differ and lead to many feeling aggrieved. The parties recognise that the last three years of dispute have been a difficult and stressful time for all and acknowledge that the matter could have been handled differently. All parties are sorry for the hurt that has been caused.

The Board acknowledges and thanks Glen for the important role he played as President, having overseen the resurgence in the Club’s fortunes. Glen focused on cultural change including the development of the Club values, now known as “TRUE”, of Trust, Respect, Unity and Excellence which are reflective of values based leadership. Glen is proud of the improvements he introduced to the Club as President.

During the period in which GB was the Club’s President, serious allegations about Simon Goodwin’s use of illicit drugs were passed onto and duly investigated by the Club. It was found that the allegations were false and had no basis in fact. These allegations have caused enormous hurt and pain for Simon and his family for which all parties are deeply sorry. This brings these matters to an end for all time. Simon Goodwin is a highly regarded and respected Demons premiership coach.

The Board and GB agree that focussing on the future of the Club and particularly the welfare of its people is the most important priority.

The Board and Glen look forward to the future including the continued success of the club.

(names to show only initials).

Huge kudos to Brad Green and Co to achieve what seems a major breakthrough.  The club can now move forward with a truly fresh start off the field without distractions.

2025 - a year to let our football to do the talking!

The parties have come to agreement. Former President Glen Bartlett’s contribution over his long period of service to the club and it’s revival has been acknowledged and recognized and  allegations regarding our premiership coach Simon Goodwin have rightfully been discredited.

Let's move on and support the Demons as they rise to the task of winning the 2025 premiership.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
