I didn’t like the way the commentators waxed lyrical about the head high bump that put Fraser Rosman out of the GF. A good GF showing would have been a boost to his career.

Believe the commentators excitedly said something like “good contest” the moment after the Brisbane player screamed into Rosman’s head at speed with an elbow raised while he’s prone on the ground.

Devastated for him missing the GF.

Agree, the commentary around the Rosman incident was inappropriate..very 1970's. In fairness, the commentators have only an instant to frame their words. But not good.

I'd had Turner ahead of Tomlinson. Most of the damaging AFL key forwards are either mobile (Curnow, Cameron, Naughton, Hipwood, Daniher, Riewoldt, McKay) or beasts {Lynch, Hawkins). Tomlinson is a straight ahead player with poor agility. I don't see him as an AFL defender any more.

I’m hoping it’s Turner as well, Tomlinson has lost a fair bit of agility. But Turner is super young, and showed it in patches against the pies. Hopefully he has that injury free super preseason.

I’ve thought the sub should always be who has is fit/stronger VFL form out of Smith and Tomlinson. At least they started to do that late in the season.

Smith can play both ends and is more athletic, but a worse kick and decision maker. Tomlinson can go back and allow a different KPB to go forward, and can cover wing.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
