Not wrong Macca. It would be harsh to say she choked, but I will say after having watched all of hers runs that the pressure certainly got to her. She'd been so dominant, so really feel for her.

But the good thing about sport is that you get a chance to amend, and as you say Macca, I have no doubt she'll be going he'll for leather come Thursday.

Another way to look at it is that how hard is it to win both the K1 & the C1 in this sport?

There's always a bit of luck involved with Canoe/Slalom unlike some events where a pure technique & high ability can win out

To watch it is nerve-racking enough but imagine the pressure at the top of the run!  All that white water going every which way

Previously, Jess wouldn't have had a second chance but in this Olympics we have both the C1 & the K1

Anyway, Jess will be doubly determined on Thursday if she gets through to the final, that's for sure

A bad loss to the Opals first up to Belgium 85-70. Only scored 29 points in the 2nd half and were outscored in the last quarter 29-13.

Belgium are a decent team, but there were a few things I saw that drew me some concern as to how far they can go. I think they'll still make quarter finals at the least, but they would be aiming much higher I have no doubt.

Meanwhile the Matildas managed a 0-0 draw with USA, which should be enough to get them into the Quarter Finals, pending some other results to come.

Not good TD ... never looked like it.  Very disappointing

Hopefully we can get a win in the Mens Waterpolo tonight (vs Croatia)

*Wednesday's schedule is up (scroll up to view) Busy day with lots of finals and a jam packed evening

Very nice win by our men in the Water Polo tonight defeating one of the Gold Medal favorites Croatia 11-8. Puts them back in contention to get out of the group stage.

Titmus a chance to add the 200m crown to her 400m tomorrow. Our mens 4x200m Freestyle relay team a medal chance and we have two girls in the 1500m Freestyle final.

Two very good gold medal chances in the rowing with our womens and mens fours. Plus two others in contention in mens and womens quad skulls.

Looking like another good day ahead!

Just touched out for a silver. Great effort by the Aussie men. We were no sure things for a medal in this race.

Ash Barty and Storm Sanders have lost a heart breaker in the Quarter Finals to the top seeds from Czech Republic 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 (Super tie break).

Barty's hopes of an Olympic medal aren't over however as she kicks off her mixed doubles campaign later on today with John Peers. Sam Stosur will also be in action later on in the women's doubles.

Our Men's Rugby 7's team campaign has officially come to an end with a win over Canada to finish 7th. Two wins, four losses with three of those losses combining for only 15 points. Tournament of what could have been.

Jess Fox in contention tomorrow for the C1 with some not startling runs today, but enough to blow out the cobwebs and still have her qualify for the Semi Final ranked 5th.

Another bronze to Australia with Rohan Dennis in the Time Trial. We're loving Gold today, but equally loving the bronze!

Our mens Beach Volleyball team have been eliminated after a straight sets loss to Spain.

A real shame as they looked so good in their first match, but just weren't able to show that form again in either of their remaining pool games.

Ash Barty and John Peers win their way through to the 2nd Round in the Mixed Doubles with a straight sets victory over their opponents from Argentina.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
