What they're saying down at Punt Road

Richmond will beat us comfortably imo. They have started sslowly but still have depth across the field. Their field kicking when on is up there with Hawthorn and Geelong.

Also, the main reasons that their quick, aggressive game works is:

- they have great hand and foot skills.

- they have players who will spread quickly from the contest, giving multiple options to the ball carrier.

- their midfield runs incredibly hard both ways.

This year, they have been off their game but when operating even close to their best, are devastating. We do have the cattle to match them, but until we can tick off the above points consistently, we will be playing a 2nd rate version of their game style.

  • Oliver is useless when he's not throwing it.
  • Oliver is a worse kick than Treloar.
  • CLAYTON LOLIVER!
  • Can always back in Oliver's skills.
  • Thank god we thrashed that pissweak football club.
  • Haven’t lost to them since Rance buried Watts skull into the turf.
  • Cotch will retire at the end of the year.
  • Jacks still sooking too much to the umps for my liking.
  • Melbourne are terrible.
  • A top team in form would beat us.
  • Melbourne are an absolute rabble of a football club, what a pathetic joke.
  • They need to be taken of life support.
  • The Dees to their credit threw the kitchen sink at us.
  • Balta is the heir to Alex Rance.
  • We played a lot better today but if that had been Geelong, Brissie, Suns or even Port we probably get smacked.

Reminds me of one of more depressing sledges i yell at the footy when the dees are being flogged and their fans are giving it to us (which Ive noted on here before):

Shows how rubbish you are (insert team here) - a half decent team would be 10 Goals up (or 15 if they are already 10 up)

Hope Geelong fans went easy on you during #186!

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
