Just for interest, is there ever a player you have been positive about recruiting? In my observation you have dissed every opposition player we have shown interest in.

Then once they arrive - alchemy!

My opinion of players never changes, even when and if we recruit them, with the FD obviously having a different opinion, I support them if they are a Melbourne player

But I stay away from the denigration that appears on here when a player doesn't live up to the expectation placed on them by the experts on here

I have an opinion on the players we are looking at recruiting, but sometimes it doesn't agree with the nass hysteria others share

Yes Colyer has speed, but his ball use and defence is not up to  par, something Hunt has been criticised for as well on here

My opinion, you don't have to agree with it, at least I specify why I have that opinion, different than some who just blindly say 'get him' and the question why others don't agree

You say your opinion never changes but that is a very limiting approach - everyone sometimes gets it wrong  about a player's potential.

What did you think of Jake Melksham before he was recruited?  Has your opinion changed there at all?

Must say I am not thrilled at the prospect of Colyer.

Bombers will be dumping players now for Shiel room.

I think Baguley is a better player, but we may not need his type.

I thought Melksham was a player whose potential was unfulfilled, never thought of him as nothing more than an average midfielder

Obviously FD thought the same, move forward and hey presto, still has his limitations particularly in the forward pressure area

My meaning was my opinion wouldn't change immediarely just because we recruited a player

Anyone with elite speed I'm happy to bring in. We're still a bloody slow footy side.

If we get May, maybe Frost loses his spot. Add to the fact that Hunt may not be in the team we literally have not 1 player with elite speed which is a worry. Stretch isn't anywhere near as quick as Colyer.

Sorry, but as long as you keep that avatar you will forever lack credibility

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
