The Last Time they Met - Round 21

Timely given the Gaff hit on Andrew Brayshaw during yesterday's game in Perth.

The last time Melbourne played Sydney, we witnessed the Tom Bugg apply a nasty left hook to Callum Mills' chin which cost him six games' suspension. Mills recovered to play the following week and pick up 22 touches against the Gold Coast Suns.  The Sydney game was also the game when Jack Viney's foot injuries first surfaced - we now know that following a further issue with his toe, the co-captain is likely to reappear only if we make the finals.

Recall Luke Parker gave us a bit of a touch up.

Also, we had a few blokes in that unfortunately, weren't really up to it. Mitch White was unable to keep up with his opponent if I recall and this could have been his last hurrah.

A very interesting game coming up.

They are beatable...but don't give the Buddy monster a sniff... it's come alive...thanks Filth

With Moore going off and a noob set the task to monster-mind the Swanettes had a resurgence. Starve supply out of the middle they'll wither and die.

We can't let Buddy just roam...he needs baby sitting out of the game...let Frosty have a crack.

I've had this as a danger game for some time....Fox clever Goody...it's going to be a win by design....get cracking lad.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
