Depends who he is replacing and the role he is playing Pro.  Made a significant difference and impact last week. His comparative around the ground (non-rucking) stats were off the charts for someone playing a large part of game time in the ruck. No doubt he didn't get many to advantage but they were the best comparative stats all year vs anyone who has played the main ruck role for a large part of the game, including Watts, Spencil and Big Maxy.

You've misunderstood, Red.

When I was talking about getting games into players "who are the future" at the expense of the "likes of Pedersen" I wasn't referring to Pedersen as our number one ruck due to a spate of injuries, I was referring to Pedersen as a tall forward.  A very different analogy.

Last year we beat a Hawthorn team that was two clear on top of the ladder and included Sam Mitchell, Jordan Lewis, and Brad Hill.  We play an inferior Hawthorn side this year without those players, not to mention we've procured one of them.

I think we're better in 2017 even though we haven't played a 4 quarter game.  Clayton Oliver makes us better for starters.  After this round we'll be 4th on the "quarters won" ladder.  We only need to win one quarter to make that transition.  If we win all 4 quarters we'll go to third.  Last year we finished 10th on the QW ladder.  It's a measure I rate and gives a good indication of a team's performance by year's end, as well as an accurate picture as the year is unfolding.

I don't care what Hawthorn do today, if we come to play we'll win.  They cannot match our midfield.

Particularly when you take the age of the side into account, to me it's a sign of the talent on the list and the quality of experience we have

I'm in NYC. Is it possible to watch the game on the AFL app tomorrow without first knowing the score?

Watching it live at 1.00am on Sat night at One Oak will otherwise be pretty tough.

Ron use the website watchafl.com.au you should be able to watch the whole match replay (i.e. games from fri night still on there not sure how long they keep them up for). I find outside aus - the website much better for stability and quality than the app. Same feedback from other mates living overseas as well.

There is an option to switch match score off so you can't see them before watching.
