The concept of a "best forward line" is stupid. By definition, the best forward line is the one whose team scores the most (even if some goals come from midfielders). Mids and defenders influence the forward line immensely, so a "great forward" relies on those players just as much as a backline relies on defensive forwards and two-way running.

With that said, GWS's forward line is indeed absurd.

    Can't agree more. The best forwardline won't win you flags. But the best Midfield will. Name the last Grand finalist to have a midfield outside the top 4 for that year. You can easily name ones with a weaker forwardline... Both 2016 Grand finalists for a start.

One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
