Sure. Guys that should have been leaders like Garland and Dunn are in the gun for me. Had one of them turned out to be a Harry Taylor or Nick Maxwell then we wouldn't be in this situation.

What situation would that be? A young team with a lot going for it, even if the wheels still come off from time to time?

I take little notice of these interviews with players as by nature they have to sound positive.

By nature they have to BE positive. If any player thinks that we can't beat WC, no point even getting on the plane.

AdamFphelebed, just because I said Weeds and Hulett are not up to senior level and unlikely play senior footy in 2016 that doesn't mean that they will never pay senior footy. However being a Demon supporter is at best frustrating. I do understand that mids develop quicker than say forwards. On the subject of developmant Max King is in his 3rd year as a rookie, shouldn't he be progressing by now? May end up getting the chop.

Now ENYAWED, I'm not frustrated at all by our KPFs developing naturally in the VFL. And I'm pretty sure with the Weeds' body in particular, the club would have hoped he played in the VFL all year, rather than get thrown to the wolves.

As for Hulett, I suspect he's got things to work on and some maturity to gain, but once again, no frustration at all with him developing in the 2's.

And finally, for Max King.... possibly agree on that one. Not looking so good.

I am confident most think we will lose. That is one difference between lower sides and

higher sides. It will be all confidence for the public but the reality will be a lot different.

The players think they have a chance of winning, they do believe that they can win.  They are looking forward to the game.  I have this straight from one of the players, and before you say "Of course - that what they say to public", it is a family member who tells me what he really thinks (on the proviso that I don't pass on anything I shouldn't).

Also in regards to effort - as much as some supporters think they are not trying - each of them are out there trying.  Sometimes it just doesn't click.  Those players come off with some wicked bruises and bumps every single week.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
