    From 87-91 we played finals but never finished top 3 in for a double chance & always scrambled to make the 5.. 

    Agree 1990 was our best chance as all sides were even in the top five but yet again the footy gods were against us with the draw Coll vsWC & we beat hawthorn & waited for the replay ..

    Knocking out Hawthorn in 1990 should get more credit.  They had won the previous 2 years.  As I recall we played them in the last round of H & A as well - beat them twice in 2 weeks.  That should have been our year - as noted earlier the drawn wc / coll game threw the finals series out and didnt help our momentum.
