Not sure we (supporters) have our priorities right

Having now watched twice both our successful games against Collingwood, I think a lot of the chat on here is misdirected (although I wouldn't say that about the club itself).

There are many Dees supporters (and in the media) who are screaming for Petracca's inclusion in the next round. On his display at Casey against Collingwood I can say he is some way off. His kicking more often than not missed targets, and his kicking for goal, was at best 50%. There were a number of others who have showed a greater case for inclusion: Grimes, Garland, NB, even Newton who seems to have been forgotten in this. IMHO, Grimes was by far the superior performer at Casey over the weekend of the MFC top ranking players. I know there are many on here who can't stand the guy, but on pure quality of performance he is right up there. Jack Trengove is very close behind him.

This is not to say that Petracca will not be a superstar (I have no doubt he will), but not yet. The Club is managing him brilliantly, and we should all support them in that. Likewise, Weideman, he shows great poise, and great skill, but I would say next year in the ones. Meantime, I expect him to "do a Hogan" and win B&F for Casey this year.

We are in very good hands, and will reap rewards in the years to come. In the meantime, we should show patience. The more we do, the closer that flag will be.

Dees2014, whilst I agree that Petracca needs more time at Casey, getting selected into the senior team isn't just about being 1st, 2nd or 3rd best at Casey the previous week. It's about what you can offer at senior level. The FD know what Grimes and Garland have to offer, and have had no hesitations in promoting Wagner and Hunt, who's Casey form may seem to be inferior.

And with reference to Grimes, I don't think that any Melbourne supporter "can't stand the guy". Some of us just believe that he's limited as a player, and others offer more.
