The last time we beat 'em

After all the negativity on here, and a few posts I read on other threads, I was thinking it might be time for a bit of positivity. Considering our recent situation, being bashed from pillar to post, maybe we need to look back, week to week, to find some inspiration. Flip side of the coin is we might be reading/viewing the same stuff every time we play certain teams, but then there will always be the Essendons, who seem to provide new footage whenever we play them. (Tossed around the word '[censored]' then, but decided against it)

So here we go, Round 20, 2005. The last time we beat Geelong. (last 30 mins)

Some take-outs for me: Moloney was more than just a 'get ball and bomb long' player; Davey a superstar, deserved premierships; get Howe some Robbo footage; courage (Whelan etc - even Godfrey), that's the missing link! Fringe players IE Bell, Reid (check out the deliberate OOB FK, not much has changed with the maggots) you could trust to take a mark, or go when it's their turn; the natives faces when they thought they were in trouble (priceless)

Different team every week, different experiences, away you go....

Cool, another thread about Geelong........Yeah me too glory days indeed, there have been a few, but it feels like its time to revisit this with a win down at Catpark.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
