viney - very solid game

howe - good second half. leave up forward, will be a handful with the opposition focused on Dawes + Frawley.

watts - deserves all criticism. don't know what can be done with him. just so soft. his "leads" are just jogs, looks like he doesn't want the ball at all.

JKH - worth persisting with. needs to get involved in the play more. will be better with less static, stop start footy from the team. much rather him than Byrnes

spencer - taps are useless. 3 disposals for the game + wasn't overly physical. unfortunately all we've got for now, but practically useless.

frawley - dropped chest marks. he and dawes (through poor kicking) taking their chances probably would have seen us get over the line.

Totally agree with your Spencer call.

Jamar is basically retired and Gawn is too busy talking in to a microphone.

Ablett - Can't touch him

Can't hold him - he is so freakin strong. trying to make a tackle stick on him is nigh on impossible. ( he is such a champion and then some)

1 clanger makes you a king? Turn it up. Terlich was ok today.

His disposal efficiency was higher than these following players:

N.Jones

Dawes

Frawley

Vince

Tyson

JKH

But don't let the facts get in the way of a good old fashioned misconception.

It's not appropriate to compare disposal efficiencies of players in different parts of the ground. Defenders, on average, have much higher disposal efficiencies than players in any other positions on the ground. I'm not sure why, but kicking towards a ground becoming wider instead of narrowing might be a reason as it provides more space to hit a target.

Given all the players you compare Terlich with are not defenders, I'm not sure this is your best argument.

Watching the game - its the context of the clangers . Quick kicks under pressure to the opposition are still clangers. Unfortunately Terlich's disposal and decision making under little pressure IMO are suspect.

Clanger list:

Terlich 1

Jones 1

Dawes 2

Cross 3

Frawley 1

Vince 3

Viney 3

McDonald 3

Jones 3

Grimes 2

Dunn 2

Bail 2

Pedo 2

Tyson 2

Watts 1

Georgiou 1

Spencer 1

McKenzie 5

The midfield pressure was terrible on Sunday, so I think it's incorrect to say defenders aren't under pressure with their disposal.

Bottom line is that Terlich's disposal is average at best.

He also a habit of taking off with the ball with what appears to be little thought as to where he is going and runs himself into a corner or runs then pulls up quickly as he has nowhere to go.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
