A BIG THANK YOU

Thanks to all who work to make this site work. Without it, I'd just be a Melbourne supporter .. with it, I am part of a network of like-minded lunatics, which is much better :lol:

I have been overseas a fair bit this year (especially in the last six weeks) and always logged into Demonland rather than reading the trash of the newspapers. You guys tell it like it is and I was able to keep well informed from the other side of the world. Thanks to everyone. I am not a big contributor but I read everything. I have enjoyed being part of the Demonland family - being a Demon supporter can be a lonely place sometimes...

I look forward to 2014 with a lighter heart.. and a tinge of optimism.

We must mark this club hard from now on.

We are the backbone of the supporters of this club.

I read Dland before i read the club website.

I am still pumped that PJ signed Mr. Roos

We members deserve the best from this old and proud club.

It will rise and we are the beginning of making sure it does.

Our list is not good enough. It can be in time.

Those who wish to leave can leave. We will build a list of September players if the members expect it. Average performances must be unacceptable.

What i am saying is take off the red and blue glasses. We must be hard on this club. Roos must do at least 3 years. If he walks that could be the end.

But he is not going to...We must demand that the whole club toughens up. To win the 13th we have to beat similar pressure that we witnessed yesterday.

120 minutes of sustained pressure.

Weekly.

Well spoken WYL. I expect us to go into every game believing we can win and accepting nothing less. A percentage below the 100 mark should not be accepted anymore. Go dees!

Your post about your husband and where you put his MFC membership card was one of the best in 2013. It still makes me laugh.

If only my wife was as committed to the cause.

Next year will be my husbands 11th year as a member and although he barracks for the Pies - he is a good sport about it all. He even tolerates me putting the odd Demon sticker on his bumper bar! His favourite saying is "happy wife - happy life"

That is also my favourite song just after Its a Grand Old Flag!

As I don't object to my wife traveling around the world for work, while I stay at home looking after our four legged children. There was a comment many years ago about supporting Collingwood but I put down my foot to stop such talk. So I buy her MFC or Red & Blue clothing. A husband does what he must to protect his family from Enemy Clubs.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
