Demonland Player of the Year - Round 14

Featured Replies

6 Terlich - 24 disposals, 6 rebound 50's, and an efficiency of disposal (ED) of 83%

5 Watts - 4 goals, 9 marks, 3 tackles. If not for a few dropped marks, would have put him as number 1

4 N Jones - 26 disposals, 14 of them contested, 92% ED

3 Frawley - 20 disposals, 8 marks, 95% ED

2 Trengove - 21 disposals, 7 tackles

1 Nicholson - 17 disposals and a whopping 11 tackles

Unlucky to miss out: Rodan (great game, but ED of only 50%), Clisby, Fitzpatrick, Dawes

6. Terlich

5. N Jones

4. Frawley

3. Watts (his half-effort, unsuccessful one handers were the letdown for me)

2. Trengove

1. T McDonald

At the ground, it's often harder to realise who is going well in stats and who isn't. For example, I thought col Sylvia was bloody good tonight, real intensity and purpose, some great chasing and some of his skills were first rate. Yet watts I thought was a few lapses in concentration from kicking 7.

For mine, live

6-terlich

5-n jones

4-Sylvia

3-watts

2-nicho

1-gawn

Dawes was great, frawley and Rodan unlucky. Nice change to have excessive best players to pick, opposed to struggling to fill the 3,2,1!!

first time for me to say

TEAM EFFORT

was just impressed of the players that lent a hand when needed. unusual for the dees

otherwise your 6 was same as mine

Watts 6 (match winner)

Terlich 5

N Jones 4

Howe 3

Rodan 2

Sylvia 1

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
