Ridicule is our biggest problem

Featured Replies

It's true, and then it's not true.

Yes, we are the brunt of jokes. I read this one last year, it's nothing new. However, we've always been the brunt of jokes. Even when we were half decent in the early 2000s, when I was at school, I used to cop it weekly for being stuck up, for going to the snow (which I have never done), for driving a Range Rover (which I do not drive), etc.

Also, if you think joke-making is tied to poor performance, how do you explain the insane amount of Collingwood-related jokes online?

Let's just ease off a bit. People have never liked the MFC, and this is just a new reason to make jokes about us (one which is true, granted, but nothing that bad).

Well it didn't kill Carlton, nor Richmond, nor Hawthorn nor GWS (why haven't they been investigated for tanking the Whitfield cup game last year??)

We are the only team stupid enough to put it on record, have an dis-unified club AND picked poorly and failed to develop players.

But none of that would really matter if we gave effort on the field. Our efforts are so poor (8 i50s in the first half last week?? Low tackling rates etc) that we are truly a laughing stock. We deserve it . Its indefensible.

The whole club has to take responsibility for the shambles we have become. at this point we have no hope and that is a killer. All we are getting now is pity and ridicule.

Can't say I blame 'em....

i know 8 i50's in a half, how can that happen?

The problems are far greater than just Neeld, but it is his job to motivate and teach. It is not happening. So what do we do..wait for PJ to work it through or put in a new coach before QB??

We cannot afford to lose that fixture long term. It is our one link to the big stage.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
