Garland to the midfield

Our midfield is clearly the worst in the league and whilst we get smashed in the midfield and clearances we will continue to get smashed on the scoreboard. Garland has attributes that could really boost our midfield ie. he has the bulk and strength not to get pushed off the ball, he can read the play, he has the speed to break lines and he is a booming kick. We have plenty who can replace him as a defender who plays on quick smalls but desperately lack his attributes in the guts.

I'd play him in the midfield next week we can't do worse

No way, not sure Garlo is suited at all to a midfield role. He's good in the air usually but can be terrible at ground contests and don't actually think he has enough bulk compared to most midfielders. I'd rather bring in Evans or Bail.

Jetta has got the quickest hands in the team.

He is good in tight .

You wait .

Who takes his place in the backline? With him, Nicho, Gillies and Watts playing poorly what would it look like?

Terlich Frawley Jetta

Pedersen McDonald Watts?

Who takes Watts position if he is dropped or plays forward? We need Grimes in midfield. Or just keep players rotating through

MacDonald is a few weeks away. At least he gives 100% effort

Keep Clark in the midfield. he had some good centre clearances.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
