That article sums it up for me. The last 2 years of Bailey I actually enjoyed going to footy most of the time. Even though we were nowhere near the most skilled side going around, we were definately one of the most exciting. Since Neeld took over I've watched the side go backwards each week, there is no enjoyment or hope left.

That was basically my take on the years 2008 to 2009 (and I got blasted once for saying so). The club had recruited pretty well and there was enough talent within the group without having to take a dive. Results might contradict me but I feel that two things have set us back:

1) The fact that the draft picks were viewed as an end, not a means to an end. We get the draft picks.... then what? It was never really thought out. This was the previous coach's fault (Bailey).

2) As a person with some self esteem, having a ceiling put on how well you can perform is devastating. This is the current CEO's fault.

Possibly one of the last games I can say the boys gave 4 quarters in and I enjoyed. Pretty much every win after the Brissy game and the Freo fight back game are a blur for me now.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
