Pretty moving article by the Ox. glad he is back at the club and I hope they open the doors up for him more oftern! Glad he has turned his life around too.

Ps Great to see he doesn't beat around the bush still and says it like he see's it lol

Yes on all counts. I hope the club continues to takes steps to build on the history and legacies left by past players. Can't help but feel we are lagging significantly on this front. We have a great history & tradition which needs to be understood & recognised by all - indeed, they should be excited by it.

Welcome back Ox, don't be a stranger.

Quite apart from all his punting etc... he is a small step below Robbie Flower as my favourite player of all time. He had it all. Superstar.

Unfortunately, his kind of intuitive, mercurial brilliance cannot always be taught or coached. Some like the Red Fox Norm Smith, Leigh Matthews, even Robert Walls could. But the mercurial players like Skilton, Carey, Bartlett, Ablett could not. I don't reckon Schwartz has the attention to detail needed for coaching. And his addictive personality could mean coaching senss him nuts.

But to come alongside Dawes, Clark, Hogan etc... in some one-on-one coaching advice - YES PLEASE!!!

Apart from the '87 prelim never felt pain like ox doing those 3 knees. He was on the verge for sure. What could have been.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
