Pre Season Draft

Neeld has taken to our list like Al Pacino in Scarface.

Raises a couple of questions.

1. How many players do we still need to add to the list in the forthcoming drafts (national and potentially pre-season); and

2. Who are the mature age players who might be available in the pre-season draft, eg, Ben Jacobs?

6 vacancies as of today.

No idea about the PSD. If you can coax someone in there, great.

It looks like the following experienced players could be available to us: Josh Toy (I think he'd be a good cheap addition), Ben Jacobs, Justin Sherman, Tom Gillies, and some more to come. I would like to see us look long and hard at Toy and even Gillies (for depth).

If we could grab Toy, I think our half-back/mids would just get a lot better.

Salopek.

Just kidding...

Nudge reported Simpkon and Burbury (Geelong rookies) were highly rated by the club. I'm not sure what their situation is like at the Cats, but if they are 2nd year rookies they could request to be delisted or not accept a contract and go to the PSD if the club guarentees to pick them up.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
