Rivers and Gysberts to Geelong?

The Cats actually believe they are still capable of winning a flag with the remaining stars and the new kids they have recruited; after seeing them play Freo the other week I don't think they are within a bull's roar of it.

Riv certainly won't get them there and they will need a fair infusion of talent to enable them to challenge for a flag in the next 5 years.

They remind me of Carlton when they hung on to their stars until they were too old and refused to rebuild (John Elliot; Carlton don't rebuild).

Or Melbourne after the 2000 debacle.

I reckon the Saints Freo & the Blues are closer to they're next flags than the Cats, at this moment.

From the outside the Cats look like they have too many aging all together, who are they're cream, pardon the Pun. Not sure of they're young list depth.

That's a bit harsh Robbie. The Cats played 10 debutants this year, and most showed a bit. Plus the handful they blooded last year. The rebuild began last year, yet they won a flag. They will challenge top 4 again next year in my opinion.

Those kids were exposed under the pressure of a final and there will be more pressure on them next year when the likes of Chapman, Enright, Corey, Bartel, Podsiadly etc. all get a year older and slower. It's amazing how players can look a lot better when they are surrounded by stars but are shown up when the stars fade.
