GWS Draft Tampering?

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, If GWS were to finish below us?? And as they claim (although I have'nt heard it from them) they would like to force us to use our first pick on Viney what happens if we say take him? I would invision they might not be to pleased to use the No 1 pick on him so... if we call their bluff and they poop and renege what happens?

I'm curious how it all works because from my limited understanding Jack has a contract with us at the moment however isn't drafted so where does it all fit in? Or is it just a good faith deal he is on?

All good questions Johnny. I don't believe any of these points have been covered yet in 'Land threads, so it'll be good to hear what posters have to say.

Is it actually true that Jack has a contract with us already? I thought I read somewhere you can't do that? Can anyone clarify?

I'd like to know what GWS would do too.

Here's my idea. Send Jack to GWS for 2 years of development, spying and sabotage. Use all our picks on the quality players we want. Then get Jack back on a nice contract once his tour of duty is over.

Viney signed a 5 year contract, including a 3 year playing contract for 2013-2015.

Details here.

I think all this talk of calling GWS' bluff is a moot point, we'll take him wherever we have to.

Top right section of Demonland is a search function - put Viney into there and sit back and enjoy the weekends reading.

You're welcome.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
