what happened to moloney?

Featured Replies

Most players will play given the opportunity. Especially someone as gung-ho as Beamer. It seems amateurish that the medical staff didn't just say "No". That does worry me.

Yep. Even LJ rocked up last week apparently looking like death, but he still turned up expecting to play. That was one time they did just say "No".

I got the flu earlier in the year, felt a bit crap one day, went to bed, woke up and felt absolutely fine. Went to the gym, after 10 minutes all my energy was completely gone and i went downhill from there. Could've been the same with Beamer... thought he was 100% but wasn't. Who knows.

Exactly right if Beamer had the flu and couldnt run out a game he should not have been playing. I love Beamer and he is probably our real captain ....

What's the real story?

He should not have played .... but did he try to fool the doctors - or did someone push him out there against his will?

Is this part of the mismanagement which has cost Bailey , for one, his job?

Flu.

You mean selfishly declared himself fit for combat, when he clearly wasn't. .

IF he was checked out by the club doctor before the game either Brent covered up or the doc stuffed up!

Either way we went in even more undermanned.

Spoke to a member of the medical staff directly after the match. Asked why Beamer was played. He just looked at me and said 'I want to know the same thing'. He had advised the coaches that BM wasn't right to play, but was ignored.

Why do we have medical staff if not to make these calls and have them listened to!

But the little league won 9.3 to nothing. Number 14 was pretty good, should have debut in the seniors, maybe they all should have stayed on after half time. THEY OUT SCORED THE SENIORS!

Hhahahah and the Casey ressies won by 160 points! some fair margins out there, just the main ones the wrong way around!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
