Injury List: Round 19

Round 19 injury list

Rohan Bail (knee) - 2 weeks

Clint Bartram (hip) - test

Aaron Davey (knee) - test

Jack Grimes (foot) - season

Joel Macdonald (knee) - test

Michael Newton (foot) - 2-3 weeks

Tom Scully (knee) - test

Jake Spencer (knee) - season

Michael Evans (back) - TBA

Bad luck for Michael Evans. The letters TBA suggest some problems at least in the short term and it's a great pity because he would have been close to a promotion based on his last two or three games at Casey.

On the matter of injuries, I notice that the Bulldogs, who were close to full strength when they played us (bar Lake) have been decimated by injuries. Had we been drawn to play them this week rather than before the bye, we might have been a good chance to beat them.

It would have been nice to have played the Hawks without Rioli, Sewell and Lewis.

That's life, I suppose.

And now the cats are set to welcome back Mooney, Ling, Stevie J and I think one more big name. Oh well no good praying to just play depleted teams, no improvement will come from that! Then again maybe a little confidence. I'll take any wins at this stage.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG after a dismal performance in Gather Round to face the reigning dual Premiers Brisbane. What do expect to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
