Hobart - Easter Next year

IMO, we should get Gaz's people to talk to Brayshaw's people to arrange an away game next year @ Hobart, as long as it's in the warm climate (April) @ holiday time, & a TV game.

Around April 5th (Thursday night) or 8th (Sunday night)... This would be a replacement Idea, to 1 less Etihad away game next year. As long as it's Televised. Foxtel will do, and the club can organise decent functions on the night At the Bentleigh club & the LeighOak club.

Thoughts?

Better that than Etihad.

Might try and get down to that one.

Are they playing 4 games or 2 at Hobart I forget. I think they would rather play GWS/GC/Port/Freo down there instead of us.

Personally I'd rather us play North at Etihad. That way at least some of our fans can go, and we need to start winning games there.

We have a few Tassy boys in out team that may enjoy playing down there. And at that time of year with the warm weather, It would be a nice little 5 - 7 day getaway for people & families.

It would be nice to play North down there, rather than @ etihad.

It could get us some TV exposure next year as we make a big effort for the finals that Year.

And for those who don't make the trip down,,,, the club could put on a nice promotional function @ the newly taken in, Bentleigh Club. With Dinner & perhaps a new bigger screen and some players etc in attendance.

No. We should not be petitioning to play games outside of Victoria. We need to get fair dinkum and bury the Docklands bogey not run from it.

Away game, 'Demonic Ascent'... Away game...

Away game, 'Demonic Ascent'... Away game...

So what? I'd rather play away games against Victorian clubs in Victoria if it's all the same. Good to think outside the box but I think this idea is a bad one.

The only way I'd agree to this is if we somehow convinced the AFL to stop scheduling us to play at Geelong every single year as a compromise.

If it's okay to play games in Canberra in the middle of winter then it's definitely fine for Hobart. It rains more and gets much colder in our nation's capital.

I'd be absolutely stoked if MFC played a game here from a purely selfish point of view!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
