Coverage this weekend

Am I mistaken or because the lions are playing on Sunday afternoon the dee's game won't be shown until late Sunday night in Brisbane....

Baffles me that they can show the same game on two channels and ignore another altogether...

Live in Canberra, I'm very happy to see.

Just having a quick look at coverage around Australia. Not sure what the TV deals are all about, but there are pockets in the country that receive absolutely NO live coverage what so ever of all games.

I thought the TV deal was that if the commercial stations can't broadcast the games live (near live) into a major city, then Foxtel would.

http://www.afl.com.au/TVRadio/BroadcastGuide/tabid/9451/default.aspx?seasonid=75&roundid=763#locd=VIC - Melbourne&round=Round 20

Looking at the broadcast guides, Brisbane & Sydney still have no live coverage of ALL games.

Hope this is rectified in the next deal!!!!

It has got much better in Brisbane in recent times. The only time that a game is not televised live is because it is on a Sunday at 2.00pm when either Sydney or Brisbane play at 1pm. Foxtel play the early game live every week but 7 play the game live that has most appeal to the local market..... Makes sense but why can't foxtel put it on main event like they do for Friday night footy or if there is a similar clash on Saturday night????

Exactly. This really got my goat when we were stuck watching the crap spoon game on Saturday. Donuts, AFL.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
