If Jimma can wander around the ground collecting money so can we.

I have emailed my Demon mates checking they have contributed.

We know if all members gave around $20 we would be done.

I have dipped in already but lets make it interesting, there are seven home and away games left (plus finals).

I think $10 is about right per goal maybe $5 is better for others. (If some one bolts the max is about 5 goals by 7 by 10 or $350 bucks).

I am prepared to top up my donation on a per goal basis for one of the forwards.

My starter is Green as the man most likely to make me feel some pain (and joy at the same time).

Contribute at the level that fits your pocket and best guess.

I think we need to put money on the backs of all the forwards so they kick true for the red and the blue so mix it up a bit.

Feel free to make it one game or the full seven (or for different amounts).

Self policing.

To "guests" who come to the site welcome and please back our boys.

Think of the excitement it will give you every time they line up for one!

(Happy to add other players to the above list)

Can the mods tell me why it says 19 votes cast but I can only count 13?

In any event one goal each on the weekend and the clubs up $130.

Well done it all helps.

Probably includes null votes where people have skipped straight to the result

I voted Wattsy!

I voted Wattsy!

Thanks but surprised no takers for bater.

If wattsy kicks a bag how good a result will that be!

Was thinking it could have been a dollar a possession so the whole team could be in maybe i should add that option.

I will pay $10 for every goal kicked by Watts, Green, Jurrah, Sylvia and Bate but it will have to wait until I get back from holidays at the end of August.

How do we go about paying do we just donate the money to the debt demolition or through Demonland?

Well that depends RobbieF, do you want to contribute to MFC's Debt Demolition, or top up Demonland's bank account?

Always best to pay people directly, avoids arguments if the middleman does the wrong thing.

Damn you are a sour, cynical SOB. I reckon that if I ever shouted you a beer you'd accuse me of pissing in it and complain that it wasn't Scotch anyway.

50 lighter for me and loving it.

I knew Chip would come good with a goal.

Another $50 for a worthy cause.

Go Chip, you star!

Was one of the 50 volunteers who donned the Debt Demolition shirt and rattled the tins at the ground today.

Response was amazing.

I was in a mainly Sydney based area, but I still managed to fill my tin with notes and coins - many from Swans supporters "This is for Jimmy".

I saw a few people who returned their full tins, plus hands full of cash that simply couldn't fit in.

Hopefully knocked a heap of it off today.

Worth every cent this week

Dear The Boss,

We at Demonland are a pretty laid back lot. We believe in democracy and free speech and we're pretty tolerant. Over the years we've tolerated the small minority of keyboard heroes who come on here and breach our code of conduct and the common rules of civility and good manners and generally make complete fools of themselves.

We've banned a few idiots but mostly, give people like you a second chance to show they have the capacity to understand when they've done the wrong thing.

You've done that here. What you've written is not just false - it's defamatory - and because we have the means to identify you we could sue you for it. In fact, I'd love to serve you with a Writ right in front of my fellow Demon fans in the Olympic Stand during the Melbourne v Richmond game.

Thanks.

[Note: the proceeds of any legal action undertaken against The Boss will be donated straight to the Debt Demoltion]

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
