Casey Scorpions v Coburg

thanks for the updates pringle!! keep them coming!!

Blease has played 1 game - let me repeat that ONE GAME - in nearly 2 years. He along with Watts were the two youngest players taken in the 2008 draft (we took young guns because GC17 got dibs on all the good 17yo's in 2009). Serious injury - remember Nathan Brown??? - needs plenty of time.

You may be frustrated but FFS be realistic about how long it takes to build footballers.

I so agree with your comment, to many times on here, you read comments about players and there so called lack of development. Its a tough game and players need time to build a strong fitness base, before they can be expected to start playing good football.

Bate is an example. He was a guy that had interupted pre-season and wasnt 100% fit in the early rounds and lots we wanting to give the flick, Now as the weeks go by and his fitness improves you can see him getting better.

Last night was his best game of the year and I would expect him to improve further. Watts is same boat.

Hughes has taken a while also but showed plenty to suggest he can make it.

Go Casey.... Hmmmm wonder whats up with blease maybe soreness?? i imagine he would still get some pain

9.8 to 7.4. Casey lead. 3qtr time.

Sam Blease did start the game but went off with shin soreness early in the game.

Three quarter time: Casey Reserves 9.8.62 to 7.4.46.

Kyle Matthews was discharged from Eppworth Rehab Hospital. He's recovering well and it is hoped he will be back at the club in the near future. Hard to determine his chances of playing this year but he is making good progress and is back on track.

1 point win to Coburg. 14.10 to 14.9. Came from 20 down with a few mins to go but couldn't get up. Gutsy effort.

Are you serious? The kid did not play a game last year and has not played four quarters Casey seconds football this year.

It's frustrating as a supporter who wants to see him play, not frustrating from a physical point of view where I think he should be further advanced than he is.

Sheesh, take a chill pill everyone.

That cant be good, really disappointing. Looks as though we will need more patience with Blease than we do with Watts due to this injury.

Quarter Time: Casey lead 3.5.23 to 1.5.11.

Two goals to Jack Watta.

Beauty! any idea what sort of goals, well earned or cheapies?

Beauty! any idea what sort of goals, well earned or cheapies?

First one he marked on the wing from a turnover. Got a 50 and kicked it straight over the umpires hat from about 40 out on an angle.

Second time he marked on the lead from a Maric kick. Kicked it from about 50 out, again a perfect kick.

Anyone know if i can listen to this game online anywhere?

Ohhh im excited to hear about Watts start!!! :) keep up the updates guys! Much appreciated

Thankyou so MUCH mate

62-19, Scorps seem to be all over it.

Morton with a goal from 50.

Aussie off with what the commentators are saying is a shoulder problem?

Oh Jesus.

Watts' watch?

Are the opposition just crap? Or are the Scorps playing well?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
