How can people be so stupid? And why do people think they know better than the professionals that are paid to run our club??

I think its pretty obvious from what is happening that they are trying to get his body up to scratch, not so he is ready to dominate AFL level, but simply so his body will hold up to the demands of AFL footy. He has broken down pre season with back soreness due to doing too much, they have openly said his body needs to mature and strengthen. Why would you throw him into AFL footy before he is ready and risk further injury? Much like what has cost Gumbleton the last few seasons. IF anything we should be using Gumbleton as reason why not to throw him in when his body is not up to it, because they break down and miss crucial development time.

Let him have 6 or 7 weeks of solid play in VFL to the point where his body is coping with the demands and pulling up well from week to week. When he is doing that then move him up if they feel he is ready.

Why risk injuries to crucial players just so u can get ur fix?

Stupid stupid post....

MFC are doing a good job developing the team at the moment and im happy to back them in on this issue too.

'Don24', are you stupid?

Don't you get it, that people are entitled to have their opinions, & to express them. Very Basic stuff mate.

Write or wrong, we can speak our minds as to what we think & why. To call someone stupid without knowing them or even perhaps their context is totally without understanding or respect. A type of Bullying behavior, trying to make a point by belittling the other.

Think of Jimma, he doesn't do that.

He has played 3 or 4 full games at Casey and that was DB intent before promoting him... I think he will be looked at in the next couple of weeks once they are happy with his fitness....

The most recent comment from DB that I recall was '5-6 good games (his emphasis) at Casey' before he'd be selected - on FC three weeks ago.

From accounts, he's up to one in that time.

or maybe they will play him rd 8 against WCE at the G, Nic Nat V JW

"Sam Blease - serviceable without being outstanding which, together with general soreness, was all that could be expected after his first game since being drafted at the end of 2008"

Really glad this kid is finally playing.

As for Watts - Watts the hurry? We're doing fine without him.

I'll trust the club on this one.

You promote blokes largely on merit, not on thier draft pick number.

If you applied some of the logic in this thread you would lose the trust of the playing group.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
