Some interesting points from Bailey.

"We've positioned ourselves very well in what we've done in the last two years and what the intentions are this year as well."

Bailey virtually admits that our postion was "engineered".

And we have won 2 wooden spoons not 3.

Great Article, & the absolute reason why it would have been suicidal to win more than 4 games in 2009.

Over the Next Decade The MFC should, if run strongly become a top side. If we don't we only can blame ourselves.

Richmond & north, maybe even The Bulldogs could very easily really struggle while the draft is raped & pillaged.

Dean Bailey is a smart man & i thank the PG board for appointing him.

I'd love to believe this but I've followed the club for too long to ever be an optimist. We have that dirtiest of dirty words: Potential - and we have it in spades, but potential doesn't win flags realising the potential does. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking this but I'm not going to get excited until this list finishes in the top 4.

I'm inclined to agree but a talented list is far more likely to succeed that one that doesn't have the talent.

A lot more needs to go right, but the club has done this the hard but right way.

Fair Comment, But if we secure the Right players in this years Draft & PSD the "Potential" we do have is the Best that i have seen by a mile in 40 years of supporting. No Doubt.

I also was a big ND supporter as coach but i think Bails has a Tough side to him that this club has lacked since Smithy & "Tiger" Ridley who used to Bellow at Full steam under the old Smokers Stand. (For a little guy Geez he could yell!!)

DB must be rapt now that he can really start to coach for strategies & victories next year.

Those last 2 years would have been a real minefield for him. Not once did he publically flinch. I respect that having seen a lot of people crack in high power jobs.

Don't get me wrong. I am very happy with the way the club is heading on and off the ground and I agree on your take on Bails. I think he has hidden depths to him that will become noticed when a better class of playing group on the ground (which should begin to happen next year and will be very noticable in 2011). I'm just not getting too ahead of myself by telling myself that we will be a flag chance in 2013 (or 14 or whatever) as too many variables come into play when it comes to getting a champion team together. Some players don't come on, some get injured, some get found out while others might get carried away and start believing their own press. All of this is without taking into account other teams, changes of tactics or rule changes that can change the landscape overnight. Still I see good years ahead where we should win more than we lose and I look forward to the ride.

Totally Agree with every word, the clubs preparation so far this time around though is the best i can remember. I mean its october & we have over 10K Membership for 2010-after 3 years of Crap!!

That is outstanding. Even Vlad & the AFL must be stoked at that..

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
