i dont understand what people are so upset about he wanted to leave, well things like that happen often.

The fact that he just walked out, well do you really think we would of goten any thing for him ?

I wasnt happy when he walked out but now couldn't care less. If CJ couldnt get a regular game last year with the state Melbourne were in then i think it was in his best interest to move on and wish him all the best. I think we has handy last night for the blues and deserves a chance to be in there best 22. In the end it i hope its a win for him having a long career with Carlton and a win for Melbourne picking up Jarah. I am still very dirty on Scott Thompson leaving the club i love the way he plays his footy and he would be real asset on and off the field which is what we need. Anyone remember who or what we got for him?

A draft pick that we gave to Geelong for Brent Moloney. We may have done better using the pick in the draft.

yeah we got the royal screw job there, teach us for drafting a snotty nosed crow eater, hes probably best mates with HEWITT,hes turned out to be a elite player the filthy rat.

Just another player in another jumper, couldn't give a rats

Yes. Sums it up perfectly.

Sounds good... until you see who was available in that draft. Not much on offer.

I think he will be a reasonable player for Carlton. He will be better than Sylvia. People forget that if it wasn't for the father\son rule he would definately have been a top 10 pick. I'm disappointed that he's gone but I think we have a pretty good replacement for him in Grimes. I'm not sure if I'm happy with the deal we got, Jurrah seems to be a fair way off from playing AFL footy and may never make it. If he begins to show something then I may be happy with the situation but he has to do something first.

Will be a better player then sylvia????? He was lucky to be in the best 22 with melbourne, likely to be the same at Vi$y. Lets see where they are both at in 12mths time. The fact we got nothing out of the deal is a reflection on CJ and Carltank. I hope the football gods strike them both down!

if it wasn't for the father\son rule he would definately have been a top 10 pick.

can you substantiate that please

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
