It would Fix a Lot Yes!! Hawthorn were totally RUTHLESS in the 80's & early 90's Getting that way again too

Just look at hawthorn having clinics in our area of casey, thats what the dees have to became like hawthorn they will try and stuff up very one else because hawthorn only care about one thing that is hawthorn, they dont need anymore members but there out there stealing the harts and minds of the young, right under our noses, we need to harden up onfield and off field

You are old enough to remember how ruthless they are Vince. They won a flag the year you were born. You are dead right. We vould do worse than model ourselves on the Hawks. That's why i want Todd Viney Back at Melbourne. He Had a lot to do with last year. Plus he & Clarko played together at melbourne.

Strangely enough a few of our current key personnel were at Freo recently. Cameron Schwab as CEO turned the club around from a financial basket case to a profitable business and Chris Connolly got them from wooden spooners into the finals for the first time and then in 2006 to a prelim final.

Would anyone have a problem with that in the near future?

Freo making the prelim in 2006 was about as good as us making the second round that year - on a road to nowhere.

Yes I would have a Huge Problem with it. Coming 2nd or 3rd is not something to aim for. We have Done that. Had a Taste & then got let Down. Freo is the last team i would be modelling ourselves on. Schwabb did a good job off field not withstanding. But on field Walk away. Don't want to finish near the top-no one remembers that.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
