While I'm not averse to this kind of thread, it indicates some differences between Demonland and Demonology... and I think there is a place for it during the off season.

There is a place for that sort of drivel but IMO the place is definitely not a football club supporters site. If I wanted to take part in that type of discussion I'd register on a Monty Python site or voluntarily admit myself into an asylum.

Would have loved to have come along to that but I will be in Sydney.

Collingwood suporters at least get along they have a beer together they are solid supporters such as an NRL team I have followed my entire life.

Collingwood???? Isn't this the team that has chosen to dissolve it's cheer squad due to in-fighting and the unauthorised founding of a rebel cheer squad????

NRL: NRL supporters are notoriously fickle, the NRL has traditionally struggled to maintain decent crowds and changed to a night premiership to maximise exposure because NOBODY turned up.

Melbourne supporters may argue, but that's due to a love for their club. Each person has a unique view on the best way forward for this, the oldest football club of any code. We could all sit around and make posts like "Good job, Melbourne board." and "Whatever the board says is always right." That would be wrong because the board isn't always right. If the board had it's way in 1996 we wouldn't exist right now. It's our right as financial contributors to our club to question decissions and offer alternatives to take the oldest and greatest football club forawrd.

If a little thing like bickering on a website is going to tourn you away from the mighty dees then GET LOST NOW, go support collingwood. By your threat of leaving are you not just one of the other "precious" supporters you were complaining about to begin with?????????

I hear that Monkey, GET LOST NOW in your Toorak Tractor! LoL.

If it were wrong for us to have a say, then they wouldn't give paid members voting rights.

What a magnificent ambassador for the club you are! A bloke pours his heart out asking for Dees supporters to stick fat and you respond by telling him to get lost now. I guess you sure showed him you big hero! This is the exact sort of childish behaviour DD was illiterating to. There's nothing wrong with his post nor his attitude. Trust me, DD has no problems with robust discussion or debate, I have had many of them with him myself. It's the personal attacks he sees as totally unnessecary. As DD comes from a NSW country town with a very strong NRL culture, they all stuck fat and formed common bonds based on thier love for the football club. Sure they had disagreements regarding administrations and players selections, but they never resorted to name calling or attacked one another's grammar. I'm with DD on this one. NEVER tell a fellow supporter where to go just because you don't like thier opinion and NEVER encourage ANYONE to barrack for Collingwood. The admins should remove your post for even suggesting it!

Who is "Collingwood"?

Well said. We get a new "hearts beats true" supporter and monkey boy tells them to go and be a Colling@#$* nuff-nuff. Christ! I looked at Demonology and all I could see was Dee V's Dee trying to rip each other apart. Mate I'd take one DD over one thousand monkey boys. I've been looking at both these sites for months now and the amount of "I know more about you so you're an idiot" makes me want to vomit. Leave that stuff to the other moron teams. Red and Blue, thick and thin. If you are a Demon then you are my brother and my best friend.

Ahhh, Feel better now. Nothing like a rant to get it out of your system.

Personally I feel that is just the nature of the internet, if we met each other in the Bar or on a tram, we'd probably all be best mates

  • 2 weeks later...

Forgive the lateness of my reply, I haven't had a chance to get on the net for a few weeks:

Demon Tragic, You make its sound like Devoted Demon posted " Please, don't argue it's ever so bad" What was actually posted was:

Collingwood suporters at least get along they have a beer together they are solid supporters such as an NRL team I have followed my entire life.

I think I have chosen the wrong team or website. Can anyone point me to were the supporters of the dees go???

And what I meant by reply is, if you think Collingwood is so great, go support them for 3 seconds, the vicious in fighting will drive you back to the dees within minutes. The demons need supporters who will stick thick and fast, not supporters who come to games once every ten years and threaten to leave the club whenever something doesn't go their way.

The admins should remove your post for even suggesting it!

Heil, Her Demon Tragic.

Mate I'd take one DD over one thousand monkey boys. If you are a Demon then you are my brother and my best friend.

You say demon supporters are all your best friends, yet earlier in your post say I am 1/1000th the worth of Devoted Demon.

Some best friend you are, I wouldn't want to be your enemy.

You would take 1 first year member who worries that they have chosen the wrong club, over a thousand of me?

I have been a member for 12 years, so what your saying is you would take his one membership over 1000 of my 12 years of membership?

You would take 1 member over 12,000 members? Yep, that's the kind of logic that the previous board would have used.

I have no problem with any of these people personally, we are all here for one reason, our love of the club. But I will call people if they make ridiculous statements. I

n reference to HotGod45's comments, I would gladly have a drink at a bar with these people. I argue with my mates all the time, it's a part of mateship. the key is to agree to disagree and move forward. COnversations where everybody agrees with each other are just so boring.

It was this bit that got up my nose. Your're still my blood brother but I can't see any sense in telling a new supporter "my way or the highway" now bugger off and support [expletive deleted]. Yeah, maybe I went a bit over the top but I'm sick and tired of the in-fighting and get a bit cranky about it. I'll still happily have a beer with you but for every beer I buy you I expect 12,000 in return.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
