Can't believe I didn't notice this earlier, but it's the logo used on the playing cards sold at the shop!

I've seen it many times, and often remark how attractive it looks on my cards! Though it's all gold on the cards.

How silly of me

And in the catalog on the club website it clearly says "Playing cards - Old MFC logo".

So no mystery here. It is clearly not for current or future use.
