Actually its 100% not fun. On here we have;

a ) countless plebs getting their knickers in a twist because Yze_Magic is baiting them, and they are falling for it,

b ) even less intelligent plebs suggesting the most unbelievably ridiculous trades 'just for fun',

c ) a totally unreasonable sense of excitement that something significant might happen.

At the actual trade week we have;

a ) a few optimistic recruiters and list managers testing the waters, with most too timid and gutless to follow through with a deal that might be condemned by the unwashed,

b ) a very reasonable, and perhaps for some, sobering, realisation that absolutely nothing signficant will happen.

hmm yeah just like last year when we traded TJ for Jack Grimes

that was a MASSIVE trade mate and nobody even saw it coming

a few years ago we snagged Pickett who was the best available trade for that year

if you are going to be condescending try and be accurate first

ps you defend if YM in point (a) then define him in point (b )

I wouldn't say he was defending YM, just stating a fact.

Thank you Shaft.

Don't try to understand Schtacker. I'm so far above your comprehension you can't even fathom the void in between.

I have never really defended Y_M. I have said I find his posts occasionally amusing, and his ability to attract the more gullible members of this site fascinating. I simply chose to denigrate the greater of two failings (stupidity over attention-seeking).

As for the TJ trade... nobody saw it coming? Like hell. It was the main point of contention as Bailey took charge. Would he offload TJ, or wouldn't he?

The Pickett trade was... interesting, at the time, though far from exciting. If you think we will be dealing with any players of Pickett's standing in the game, think again. The only genuinely quality players available from other clubs are all outside our targeted age bracket.

The only way I will see this trade week as something more than meh is if we can land Prismall for a 3rd round pick or less. I am so indifferent to anything involving Brad Green its... well... incomprehensible. ;)

I have no intention of helping to get another thread locked with more silly arguments. If you decide I'm a condescending pr*ck then so be it.

Mate you said we never do anything in the trade period - but we do. Something may very well happen again this year. Having only indifference to whether or not Green goes is just astounding to me I can't believe you would even put that in writing. How much bigger than that does it get I ask you? Anyway all I'm saying is that there is plenty of interest in the draft period this year even if nothing happens - the absolute mess we are in right now you could argue the existence of the club itself is on the line with this trade period. 1 or 2 more first round picks are available if we want them but it means shedding some seniors. Big business.

This would have to be the most frustrating, useless week in the football calendar for supporters.

It is mainly full of misinformation and plain crap.

It should be renamed "trade day" as nearly all trades seem to be done from Thursday afternoon until Friday 2.00 pm.

I agree here.....

I have always hated what this time of year does to supporters, which actually has nothing to do with the clubs or the way the system is operated I just hate the large levels of apparent disloyalty and unwelcome crap about the people we cheer for only weeks earlier that gets thrown around endlessly it grates on my nerves.

And no-one come back at me with it is a necessary evil, I know, understand, accept and embrace that, but its our ways that make me cringe. And that in reality has nothing to do with the week itself, although despite what is supposedly going on behind closed doors, the whole week seems to make people go crazy.

Just my opinion though :rolleyes: !!!

At least we are in the 1% that are amused.

    2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

    The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

    2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

    The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
