Borderline players?

Featured Replies

Rubbish post, lets just turn all our players to stoppers, who many players in your starting 18 can you play as stoppers and to be honest Dunn has done 3 good jobs. If we play Petterd, Bartram, Mcdonald and bring Grimes in as well thats 4 players that will be better at this role than Dunn.

McDonald's on his last legs - I'd be shocked if he got more than one extra season - so lets discount him.

I think it's too early to say that all the guys you've listed are in our starting 18 - let alone 22 - but assuming they all play, I'm not sure why you'd pigeon-hole Grimes and Petterd as run-with players.

That leaves us with Bartram and Dunn, and you don't only play two defensive players in your team. I could envisage Bartram playing down back, and he was pretty good at giving us a target when breaking from defence. That'd leave Dunn with the midfield tagging role.

Whilst you do need a couple of stoppers at your disposal there are times when its more fun to say "what the heck" and drink the whole bottle!

I am looking foward to see how Dunn hopefully goes on Goodes this week. He has absolutely torched us in recent years and we have struggled to find a match up for him, using everyone from Godders to Bruce. Dunn with his size and speed should be an ideal match up for him.

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
