I thought there was a suggestion that J.Smith was going to play forward . Another breakdown from playing defence whether it be via Casey or Demons he will end up getting de listed.

Steven May said Last night that J Smith will play forward this week for Casey

Length of contract might be an issue too

There's a big difference between $4Million over 5 years as opposed to $1.8Million over 3 years

Secured & guaranteed income extending to five years is very appealing

I am assuming Brayshaw’s management & MFC are hanging on Jackson’s decision. If Jackson goes there is more MFC can offer if the want to in $ and length of contract. The AFL tradition of players not announcing mid season that their off to a new club, unlike the NRL, is stalling negotiations. I think Brayshaw wants to stay and LJ wants to go back home but it won’t be resolved til season end.

Nothing to do with humour at all.

I really just wanted to know where the ball was, who had it and the score...he could give me none of those things.

All that info would be a bonus, I just wanted to know who was playing who if I tuned in when Rex was babbling about everything but the game and where every player had a nickname!

WHY DIDNT THE TWO BOMBERS DEFENFERS SPOIL THE BALL?!?

they just let Elliot chest mark it

    [censored] me

But even earlier why weren’t 17 Bombers lined up well behind their guy just in case he missed? The Pies took the kick out and waltzed it out of D50 to get it to Elliot.

Anyone have any news on Tmac? is he a chance in a months time?

Was on ABC Radio this afternoon talking footy and BBQ’s and meat preparation with Matt Preston! Said he hoped to have the screw removed from his foot in round 20 and though his foot would be stiffer he hoped to be involved in the finals.

They kicked 5-2 to ours 1-3.

So frustrating. And where did Fritta & Weiderman go in the final quarter?

I would be asking where the midfield went in the last myself. We had chances at the end but just bombed it high. We don’t have pack crashing forwards Goody!

Had a look today. Brown/Weid/Fritsch/Melksham and Jackson in a forward group to begin, marking on jumping bag, leading/goal kicking. Petty/May/Lever/Tomlinson/Rivers/Hibberd in defensive group. Lever mostly used as designated kicker during drills

Rest of side were doing stoppage/ ball movement work at this stage

Team then moved into match sim, notably Brown stood watching from the side, seems to be some issue

Only omission from the main group in the 26 was Dunstan, who ran out with the secondary group afterwards.

Petracca/Fritsch trying to get a lot of set shots in

Clarry in a glove and handballing with the left

I dropped by briefly and couldn’t sight Fritsch, so good to hear he was out there!

  8. Rode past training this morning Oliver, Brown, Lever all training seemingly unhindered. But I could not sight Fritsch? Weideman working with the forwards but that would be expected as he is listed as an emergency. Couldn’t stay long to totally confirm though.

    Melksham won't be dropped.

Did enough to earn at least another week.

One run down tackle and an over the back running toward goal scoring shot. Not sure that is enough to earn another game. Our forward set up is a real problem and I don’t think Melk is part of the solution. We got out of jail today thanks to a Kozzie master class. That won’t happen against top sides and in finals. What is the answer? I don’t know but I would have given one of Laurie, JVR, Weids a try today ahead of Melk or Bedford.

  10. WTF the umpiring in this game is atrocious. Saints are being crucified! Freo player gets striped of the ball as he attempted to kick, incorrect disposal but no that’s play on, ball spills to Saints who takes ball, gets tackled but that’s holding the ball, free kick, then 50m for dissent. Freo kick goal to snuff out the game. Utter [censored] fro the umps and there have been 3 or 4 earlier howlers.

Dog act that should be sanctioned.

Buckley chance of that happening. I still remember the Cats ruckman Steven King rearranging Jeff White’s facial structure with a wild flying boot at a high loose ball. He missed the ball but managed to kick Jeff full on while Jeff at 195 cm was standing nearby. Careless, high Severe injury but no ramifications then.

Now look. I don’t usually complain about the umpires and I’m fully aware that it’s a hard task recruiting umpires but fair go.

There has to be a royal commission into what took place at Adelaide Oval today.

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. What in blazes is this all about?

    59F01384-3CE9-46DD-A4B6-C85877D8973D.jpeg

The commentators said Mitch was pinged for blocking but were at pains to point out that Mitch just set up under the drop of the ball which is his right. However they pointed out that Mitch did take his eyes off the ball before contact but then said so did Tex at the same time. However they said the umpire would only have been able to see the eyes of Mitch, not Tex! So it seems we have umpires paying frees in contests in front of goal based on their eye movements! Bizarre stuff.

Then we had a number of frees paid in the first half with Crows players leading deliberately with their heads into on coming tackles, (I am looking at you Tex). Surely the Umpires should be onto this self induced dangerous tactic by now?

Suns stuffed that up completely. Umps didn't help their cause

Seems like you can now take 3 opponents on and get wrapped up in a tackle, make no attempt to get rid of it but as long as you don’t let the ball spill, it’s ball up. Then with 3 minutes to go a Suns bloke barely takes possession and gets stripped of the ball in heavy traffic and it’s incorrect disposal. Glad I am not an umpire.
