Gee there you go, all those shanigans going in my own backyard and I knew nothing of it. I have walked past the Laird numerous times but now that I think of it, it was always on one of my Saturday or Sunday morning constitutionals so from the outside at that time of day it always looked to me like it was a former hotel converted into apartments.
-
Dino lucky you didn't walk down the street to The Peel Hotel you would probably need counselling!
-
Buzzy have you ever played down back in a hundred point flogging? It is not much fun and anybody and everybody can be made to look very ordinary.
-
Not sure Vince was given the opportunity at any time today but I might be wrong. Would not have made much difference as they had 10 others to run with the ball after we kicked it straight to them time and time again.
-
And I bet the players paid for them with their own money, well now that I think about it maybe not Kevin. But you know what I mean.
-
I ask the same question again if you are not injured how do you lose speed at 25? Most people say he was fast enough at 20, yes he had the foot problem in between but what is it now? He should be mobile enough now to compete.
-
Perhaps he could develop into a role like Luke Hodge floating around half back, reading the play to intercept in a good side where you have some time and space. Hodge I reckon this year is slower than Trenners but he has re-signed for next season. I think there is still a chance for Trenners to play a role where he can play to his strengths and hopefully with a full preseason and some expert guidance regain some speed. If you are not injured how do you lose speed at 25, you should be able to regain it surely if fit.

DC you are reminding me of the Wicker Man!

I would like to get a look at Huellet at this level in place of VB.

OD I agree and as I said earlier we got a $500K fine for not tanking in 2009 for doing a lot less than what we saw yesterday, that is not picking the best team, then not manning up on their three play makers. I don't get it.
-
If this game had been played in 2009 it would be part of the tanking investigation. Inexplicable player selections, dropping experienced role players for inexperienced kids to come into an already inexperienced team, then failing to tag two rampant midfielders in Grigg and Cripps all day and the coaching staff not getting the players minds ready for the task at hand. In 2009 Bailey was accused of playing people out of position and not selecting the odd player but you could make a similar argument for Roos just watching the whole train wreck unfold without making a move. Maybe they know that the new AFL priority pick system is coming in this year, where teams who haven't played finals in the last 3 years get a shot at a priority 2nd round pick; this was talked about last week by AFL journeymen.
-
Yes you are right we had a lot of the play in the second quarter but our execution was appalling and decision making was laughable at times.
-
Anyone in the coaches box? Gibbs and Cripps running rings around us! And we have made every silly unforced error you can think of but we are still in it.
-
Was that the game before we played them again the next week in a final at the G and got pumped and Jeff White got his face rearranged by King's flying boot?
-
Nic Nat down as well. But it is all over, the Dorks just look really average, amazing!
-
Gee amazing how average the Dorks look since we burst their 9 game bubble! Not that I am happy with this since I put a heap on them to win the flag when they looked like a monty to do it, but that was before we beat them. When is the last time You saw Burgoyne make 6 or more clangers. Strange performance by the Dorks. Amazing what pressure does to even great players.

Last time I went was the 186 game! Never going back.

I think he means TV which started in 1956 for the Olympics

Jesse Hogan and his kicking for goal (merged thread)
Earl Hood replied to Ricky P's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wise I think you are missing my point and that is ~ is he a kid with flaws or is he a million dollar a year, game changing key forward? His agent thinks the latter and presumably so does Jesse. I think like you, he is a kid with potential but with a flawed kicking action and his form has been average in the second half of the season, to the point where he would be dropped if he didn't have this so called "once in a generation key forward" tag given to him by some in the media. He hasn't kicked a goal for how many weeks now? If it were up to me I would drop him this week and bring in the Weed because Jesse (and his agent) need a reality check and the Weed on his debut effort looked bloody good and played purely for the team. I would be more than happy if Jesse signed up tomorrow for a fair price but I am tired of his delaying tactics. If he demands a million plus a year I would be shopping him around for the best deal we can get. -
Jesse Hogan and his kicking for goal (merged thread)

Maybe Hogan should tell his agent to get ffd and just sign a contract for 3 years at a decent price with us. I am willing to cut him some slack but really he is not delivering, has a suspect action and as has been mentioned elsewhere we have actually performed better in our forward setup when he wasn't there. That doesn't mean we don't want him or need him, I think we just need clarification for him and us, the club so we can move on. Given our other young talent, he and his agent needs to understand that he is not that special, not on current form anyway. -
Yes Uncle I was thinking the same myself. Please can you pass on your address to me and I will send around two of my people to give you a bonus that you truly deserve!
-
An unfortunate week to rest Hulett I think, for once it was good conditions for big forwards, no howling gale and we dominated scoring. It could have been a big confidence building day for Huey

We won?

Stay safe Sir there's a bit going on in Thailand at the minute, especially around tourist areas!

If my memory serves me correctly I am sure I was quaffing a reasonable Merlot the last time I visited the Braybrook just before the brawl started over whether you could shoot backwards after your opponent had put the white ball in off a coloured ball. Come to think of it I never got to finish that Merlot, it ended up on someone's head!
