How about a cattle prod, to get the ball moving in the right direction.

That's what happens when you recruit a lad because his Dad works at the club. Lets face the truth, he is 5 feet 6, can't mark over his head, can't hit a target with either foot, can't kick further than 30 metres, and is slower than a snail, oh yeh he has a good try, that's redeeming, future of the club, laughable.

Open training miscommunication - another MFC unforced error
bluey replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
In 2015 people buy their memberships online, seriously doubt that many people would see a membership tent, think it was a good plan and buy a membership at the drop of a hat, when they had no intention of doing so, or even more far fetched, don't renew ever again because they couldn't find a membership tent at a training venue. -
Open training miscommunication - another MFC unforced error
bluey replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
The snags are cooked up by volunteers, huge job to lump all the merch over to the paddock on a public holiday, double time and a half, not enough volunteers to [censored] memberships I suggest, place is run on a shoestring, nothing will improve until they can manage to win the odd game and gather some momentum, until then I don't expect more than I am receiving, which is nothing much. -
Talking Point: Intraclub Practice Matches
bluey replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pre season is pleasant, a feel good time of optimism and hope. We are on the same footing as everybody else. -
Match Day Experience - time to lift our game
bluey replied to Leoncelli_36's topic in Melbourne Demons
All the razzamatazz has stuffed the game if you ask me, dislike all the loud crap when you can't hear yourself talk, the smallest phone box space in town would require 60k rent then staffing and overheads would triple that, would need to [censored] a few thousand jumpers to break even, and nobody is going to buy or wear them until we can at least compete. -
Christian Petracca - Season Ending Knee Injury
bluey replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Smith was still coach until end of 1967. -
Christian Petracca - Season Ending Knee Injury

Oh well, there you go, better off drafting duds, they never get injured, play consistently every week without fail.. -
Talking Point: What does the Melbourne Football Club stand for?
bluey replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
We are durable and enduring if anything, being able to stare down one crisis after another and survive, a little like the Monty Python knight.. -
Freo are really making it a public humiliation, doubt if Col would care or even realise, he is fairly laid back. At least he is still on an AFL list, unlike treacle toes McLean.

Big plan about nothing, same old Hooha.

Roos said the same thing about Frawley, wish him to stay, then tried to window dress him for a bargain sale as a multi positional possibility, and won a round one pick.

I believe your comments to be true, a lot more to this than meets the eye, the club couldn't off load the bludger quick enough.

That is correct, the argument has always been that the clubs administration and Football Depot should be co-located. Gosch's paddock is problematic as it is not possible to have a truly closed session on the side of a 6 lane road. Training at AAMI needs to be rostered around the other tenants. I believe we receive free rental for staff at the MCG as part of MCC alignment. The other site is Casey where we train a few times in summer, and play our second 18. On the surface it's a mess, but I doubt if it affects the scoreboard, just inconvenient for everybody working within the club.

Who is shaping as a surprise packet for Melbourne in 2015?
bluey replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Need to set McKenzie loose, away from defensive roles, reckon he will surprise, if I recall his first few games were quite good before he was sentenced as a tagger. -
Talking Point: An uncompromised fixture
bluey replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Smithy I am very hopeful that the club has bottomed out, and am expecting a few more wins this upcoming season. -

Wouldn't be great Telly Melbourne playing Hawthorn or Swans or most other teams on a Friday night, I wouldn't like to see that, it's all about a competitive game, and the advertising revenue, and the crowd and excitement a decent contest brings. Do the crime of losing and do the time at the bottom, away from the headlights, until, and if the club ever forms into a competitive unit. -
The AFL plant suggested we move to Melbourne University, and sell caps in Collins Street, Docklands was Smooths idea, about as sensible as the East/West link, wondered what he did behind the big desk. St Kilda shafted us out too Casey, wherever that is, and out of our highly successful alignment with Sandringham, Callingwood moved out of the Punt road Paddock and we moved in, just two of many mistakes, that have led us down the path to basket case status.

Could have sent the coach an email.
-
Lost our last ten games, difficult to support the idea we will do any better next year, the list is poor, the coach has planned his exit, would take a miracle, but you live in hope.
-
The man is a renowned nuff nuff, anybody in S.A could tell you that, but yes the man can play, way past his best, but easily amongst the MFC best. Dead set losers cant' be choosers.

Always wondered what position Tappy could have made his own, reckon it had to be a Back Pocket, small with a big turning circle, congratulations on playing 48 games for the Dees though, a very similar player to Kyle Cheney who keeps on kicking on, so there is some hope.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRENDAN McCARTNEY
bluey replied to kurtneverdied's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fantastic news, Macca is the best bloke I have ever met. -
We did move forward, Alex was an upgrade on the Gillinator, albeit not by a lot.
-
We actually played quite well as nomads under Danners.
