  1. He is very ordinary, on his left, when he has to pinpoint a pass, but on the run, having a shot for goal he's quite good. But you're right, he would have sent us forward more often if he had a right foot and if didn't try to break through and passed it off a bit more we could have won the game. He'll learn, just like Jones did that it's not always the best option to just try and barge through.
  2. We will continue to languish until we get rid of the deadwood we've accumulated at the club and we are only kidding ourselves if we think we have a talented bunch of kids coming through. It's well documented that we have picked poorly, but it's starting to really bite now when we don't have any decent players waiting to take the place of those that are simply not up to it. It's not just Casey players that we have a problem with, it's the high picks that are struggling to dominate games at that level.
  3. Ranks along side Terlich's effort when he tried to short pass from the 50 mtr line, from a set shot, to a player under pressure. You could see his eyes, he wanted to do anything other that actually try to have a shot on goal. There are too many players on our list that are not up to AFL standard and we need to have a real clean out at the end of the year.
  4. If those mistakes cost several goals in a tight game where you lose by one then they do count. When you see an established player make so many fundamental errors you have to ask why would any club offer him a big contract. Oh, and run out of the back line only counts if you don't turn the ball over when you kick it.
  5. There are about half a dozen that are simply not up to AFL standard and at the moment Frawley is one of them. I'd rather have Blease in the side than Terlich and I'm not a big Blease fan, even Toumpass or Tapscott would be a better option.
  6. After his pathetic effort today I'll be glad to see the back of him. Football smarts non existant.
  7. Players seem to lack any confidence in themselves or their team mates and the skill level from top to bottom is dreadful.
  8. Salem must get more involved he's just not taking chances that are on offer, not that there's many.
  9. Weak as P155 disgraceful performance and some of the players out there have to have had their cards marked. Dawes must learn to hold mark.
  10. So you've got friends, who've go brothers who play under 18's and they reckon he's not all that good, that it? Remember a couple of years ago when Jack Viney said that Toumpass was the best player in the U18's; you reckon he got that right? So who should we listen to a couple of your mates's brothers or our professional recruiters?
  11. What about Johansson, he seems to get a lot of the ball,
  12. Can't recall ever saying we are a powerhouse, care to bring up the post where I did. Can't recall saying we are totally hopeless, care to bring up the post where I did. Did you go to the game? I did and we were terrible, that's not to say we can't play better but it gives an indication where we are at the moment. If you went to the game you would have seen that we were very patchy and a few times we were ok but others where we were substandard. We were lucky they were inaccurate because it could have been a blood bath otherwise. If you think they only beat us because of the third quarter you obviously didn't watch the game. Have a closer look at the scoreboard and do yourself a favour, watch the replay. Scoring shots 1st 9 to 3 2nd 6 to 3 3rd 11 to 6 4th 6 to 4, we kicked 6 straight up to half time and they kicked 7.8, they kick straight and game over at half time. Perhaps you might want to comment on the game instead of other posters. There are too many players at Melbourne where the difference between their best and worst is massive and until we can sort that problem we will struggle.
  13. North as a team unit have been together for a while now and they have experienced hard bodies on most lines; we are a group cobbled together by Roos and lack the cohesion of a good top 8 side. We should be in the same position as they are but a series of drafting blunders and some poor coaching has resulted in us starting from scratch, we were the ones who were supposed to have the great bunch of kids who would have been on their 5 the year or more of development. We have to live with that and today will make us acutely aware that we have a way to go; there's not a lot at Casey and the players that need to go back won't get much help when they do. It's not wrist slashing time it's just another lesson that hopefully the players will learn and it will tell Roos a lot about the group he has at the moment. It will let him know who goes missing when the heats on and I dare say they won't be on the list at years end.
  14. He will learn, I hate it when he overestimates himself and gets caught trying to break through but I guess as he gets older and stronger it will happen. He's got some faults but they can be ironed out.
  15. At one point 3 Melbourne players flew for the mark in the backline and 3 Norf players sat behind waiting for the ball to spill, which it did when our guys spoiled each other, end result a goal for them. We seemed to have no one on the outside to receive and had too many crowded around the ball making a handball to advantage impossible. It was pure crap today and how we didn't get beaten by 10 to 15 goals is beyond me, if Bernie wasn't there it would have been nasty. I guess you have one of these games every now and then when 90% of the team are off their game.
  16. I'd have no problem with JKH coming back but I just don't think Salem has the tank to run out a game or particularly against hard running opposition. Jack Viney looked very tired today and we have to understand that he's very young as is Salem and Tyson. Giving them games for the sake of it is something that Roos said he didn't want to do, they mustn't have a sense of entitlement.
  17. Pretty much agree with that, I don't like the way Tyson is so inconsistent, I know he's pretty young but he was ordinary today. Salem isn't really ready for the big time yet he needs to get more of the ball and get involved more often in the game. Jones has to learn it's not all about Jones, that's all I'll say. Our forwards, if you can say we had any, just waited for the ball to be bombed in there and didn't bother to offer a lead the players up field did exactly that, bombed it in without looking to see if we had a player in the contest. The movement of the ball was the worst I've seen for a long time and Norf just pressured us in to poor decision making and when we tried to do the same they just brushed us aside. Make no mistake, Norf are not a great side, but they are very well drilled, much more cohesive than we are at the moment.
  18. Dreadful game too many of our players were down, Jones probably gave away 5 goals with turnovers, Jack Viney needs a rest in the 2's he looked knackered today. Our hand passing was predictable and they cut us to ribbons with their anticipation. Our backs were trailing their forwards all day and that applies to around the ground as well, they were always in front we were always trailing behind. Our forwards didn't lead and our defenders didn't defend. Our mids got caught and continually took the wrong options, panic set in and became contagious. Jack Watts tries to do to much and has to learn, like Nathan Jones, that it's not up to him to win the game off his own boot; take the first option Jack and don't try to be too fancy. Big wake up today, some of our players were getting ahead of themselves and need to stop trying to over do it.
  19. Can't see any reason why we can't win, so we will.
  20. Wonder how often before, a side had co captains, whose brothers played against each other in different teams.
  21. Everyone's entitled to an opinion that's what these forums are all about. Me, I've never had a high opinion of Rohan, right from the start and to me he appears to be similar to Blease, lots of speed but not lots of possession, I'd be very disappointed if we picked him up I saw a bit of him in the game last week and he looked out of his depth. He may turn out to be a star but I doubt it and if he does he's got a long way to go.
  22. Nothing here screams out "star". http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pc-sydney-swans--gary-rohan Average of 8 disposals over 32 career games. Averaging 5 disposals in 5 games this year. We might as well get Bennell back.
