  1. Whilst there is no excusing Fritschā€™s lack of defensive efforts, I canā€™t help but think if he played for the Hawks, Pies, GWS etc he would be on the end of great delivery in space or in one v ones.
  2. Iā€™m in the ā€œItā€™s time for Goodwin to goā€ camp but letā€™s not forget Chris Fagan never played AFL / VFL. Whilst we have line coaches Goodwin is ultimately responsible for the style of footy we play and needs to accept responsibility for what we served up yesterday.
  3. Are we the only club potentially looking for a new coach? Port have announced their succession plan. Eagles have a new coach. Essendon recently extended Scott. Yze is in his 2nd season. Maybe Carlton if Voss canā€™t turn the Blues around.
  4. For those that think Goodwin isnā€™t the problem can you please share your thoughts on how we turn this all around? The answer is more than just our injuries, see the Bulldogs. Can you tell us how our gameplan stacks up against other sides, stating that we played finals in 22/23 means little as years later Goodwin still hasnā€™t fixed our delivery inside fwd 50 or our ability to convert once itā€™s in there. Weā€™ve gone down the path of new assistants so where to now?
  5. Fritsch is a great mark and uses his body well in the contest but we canā€™t be bombing it in on top of his head. Play a talk on him and the ball goes to ground heā€™ll win out, play a mid / small on him heā€™ll beat them in the air.
  6. Not yet, that would be a very un Melbourne thing to do. Need to recheck the draw, hoping we play Freo, Collingwood and the Hawks consecutively.
  7. Turner kicked a difficult goal from the pocket in the 2nd qtr I think, we have players that miss from directly in front. Whilst Fritsch laid 0 tackles yesterday which is unacceptable he like Turner would be better suited to an attacking game plan with quick ball movement. Trade for Leek Aleer, heā€™s only 23 years old, Petty is 25, leaving Turner and JVR up fwd.
  8. Bulldogs have had Bont, Treloar, Weightman and JUH out yet management to beat North and should have beaten the Pies if not for some one sided umpiring. Iā€™m not entirely familiar with all of their players but they played an attractive attacking style of footy. We have no excuses, not sacking Goodwin is just prolonging the inevitable.
  9. Port really showed Richmond didnā€™t they.
  10. Great post, add to that any players that will now consider a trade.
  11. Who do think the AFL has earmarked for the Tassie gig, Bucks or Horse?
  12. It would be the Melbourne thing to do to hire Hinkley.
  13. Agree with everything but we didnā€™t fluke the flag.
  14. When do Tassieā€™s concessions start? Weā€™ve traded away our 1st rd pick.
  15. Agree he had to go, but when will the club pull the trigger?
  16. Others club must just sit back and laugh. Goodwin clearly doesnā€™t have the answers.
  17. Thatā€™s it keep bombing it in.
  18. Fair to say nothings going to change under Goodwin. How do trade back into the first rd this year?
  19. Our tackles donā€™t stop the player from disposing by hand .
  20. And on Friday night the Dogs played their home at the MCG giving Collingwood another game at the G. But we canā€™t complain because it would of been the Dogs who requested this, subsequently getting their biggest home and away crowd.
  21. 23 rounds including one bye per team. Have a split bye rd mid season. Scrap rd Zero. Play every team once = 17 games. Then your remaining 5 games are based on your ladder position from the previous season, top 6, middle 6 & bottom 6. When Tassie comes in North or Saints fold, 18 teams work, 19 & or 20 wonā€™t neither will a final 10 finals system. Even though we know itā€™s coming and the majority will lap it up.
  22. Will.
  23. A twenty team competition looks better every week.
  24. We struggle to score and have done since Rd 10 2022, people like to throw up all different stats to support their case or shoot down someone elseā€™s. Stats can bugger off, we canā€™t score naturally with the exception of Kosi. Everything feels so programmed. I watched the Dogs last night move the footy, bugger me they were good. For all of Salemā€™s 30 odd touches last week he is the least damaging player. Some of the hawks / dogs kicks from their back 50 to a man in space which led to a goal or scoring opportunity. Itā€™s frustrating, then Iā€™ll cop from someone what if we won? Iā€™d still feel the same about certain players and the way we play because I feel we could be so much better with some tweaking of the game plan. Or is it simply our game plan is what it is because our some of our players are limited. But then I think I donā€™t even know a third of the dogs / hawks but theyā€™re well drilled.
