STEVE J in a fwd pocket for 1 year. We could do worse. I still have faith in JKH making the grade but it may not be for another year.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
1 year?? You can't be serious, we have players in their 6th and 7th seasons and are still not up to it.I'd like to think McCartney is not only here to develop the kids but also identify those that aren't up to it and are no longer worth persisting with. Toumpas may fit that bill. Yes players take longer than a year to develop but they need to be showing signs of improvement. Too many on our list have either remained stagnant or gone backwards. This trade period shapes as one of the biggest in years with regards to our club and where we sit in the football landscape.

So he's a better version of the Prince, actually sounds like a third of our team.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
I posted the other day R-Jay that moving all five is unlikely and that I would keep Watts out of the five. If we were to secure Lynch we would have 3 mobile fwd options. But as you have said "never say never". None of us know what Goodwin is thinking.

Yes. I think Roos showed us last year with Trengove that no one is safe. Roos keeps talking about the past and those that can't get over it. Like it or not Roos/Goodwin will/should have on their list Watts Howe Garland Dawes Grimes What's scary is what would we realistically get for any of them?? Would any other team take Dawes or Grimes? I can see Howe,Garland and possibly Watts gone this trade period. Dawes and Grimes can see our their careers at Casey or accept a revised payout. After the weekend the thought that they're worth more to us than to trade or delist is now officially dead and buried.

When did the Hogan rumour start? Or is it just ongoing?

Delistings/trades at end of the season
From what little I watched of the game yesterday Grimes was ball watching rather than going in to win it. Yes, I know he wasn't alone.

Tmac takes a lot of marks from opposition kicks as being a good reader of the play and gets to contests to spoil effectively. When he marks there should be someone sprinting past for a handball receive.

More depth? We don't have any to start with. We don't even have 22 players up to AFL standard. The honest but scary truth.

We don't need both Howe and Garland. If Howe stays, great, Garland can go.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Youre right, Newton, Riley and Michie have disappointed but at least we tried. Last week we ran out with Grimes/Michie/Jones, were we effectively 3 men down? A true sign that this club has turned the corner will be if it offloads Toumpas at the end of the year. We employed McCartney to develop players and in conjunction with Goodwin make the tough calls on players. If Toumpas doesn't possess the basics now move him on before it's too late. No more Grimes's disposal is coming good after 6 years only to butcher it again the following week. The Hawks are playing a kid by the name of Daniel Howe over the weekend. He's getting a game over Hartung, Litherland, Schoenmakers and others. They don't wait until they're playing the Brisbane Lions, they are playing him against an inform Geelong. I hope he's not sub. They are going to see if he can perform against quality. I would much rather offload as much dead wood as we can and bring in another batch of players in the hope we unearth someone or find the next VB. There's enough spots on the list to justify one or two a year, on two year contracts. Keep rotating them through, offer them minimum contracts.

Gawn and a mid definitely priority over Howe and Garland. Would rather keep Howe but not for the money that's been reported(yes it's probably crap) by other clubs.Where is Frost going to play?

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Article on AFL website about Hampton from GWS. I hope we don't chase him. He has pace and can be elusive as we weaves his way through congestion but his disposal from what I've seen is a disgrace, it's that bad. Wayward up and under kicks into the fwd line, kicks missing their target by 1-2 metres(he might fit right in). We can't afford any more players that can't dispose of the footy.

If the end of year chat doesn't go well with the coach he may ask to be traded. Who would take him and why?
