I also said today that McDonald wouldn’t play as a defender again and about 30 seconds later he was playing as a defender.

“A lot” simply means we will struggle to put them away for most of the game by playing a lazy, selfish style of play. I think I nailed it.

Josh “Ben Cunnington” Kennedy is such a worry for next week. Just watch him rack up centre clearance after centre clearance while we stand flat-footed.

Jones added composure while his teammates floundered. He should never have been dropped this week and shouldn’t be dropped next week.

After what Cunnington did today I’m mortified about what the combination of Hickey and JPK do next week. We are already a bad clearance side but I can see that getting ugly quickly. I’d seriously look at bringing in Harmes to tag him because we can’t afford for what happened today to happen next week. The likes of ANB and Spargo will need a rocket too because we know Sydney will try to play keepings-off to beat our zone (like North did for much of today) so our pressure cannot slip one iota.

ANB and Spargo have both been overrating their worth. Know your roles, fellas and stick to it.

Agreed, I was all for Brown coming in but unless our crumbers are making an effort at his feet (they haven’t today) he’s a bit useless.
